IRS Deputy Associate Chief Counsel Thomas Kane said in transcribed congressional testimony that more IRS officials experienced computer crashes, bringing the total number of crash victims to less than 20, and also said that the agency does not know if the lost emails are still backed up somewhere.
The new round of computer crash victims includes David Fish, who routinely corresponded with Lois Lerner, as well as Lerner subordinate Andy Megosh, Lerners technical adviser Justin Lowe, and Cincinnati-based agent Kimberly Kitchens.

Well, we know that when we take the White House, we can sic the IRS, NSA, FBI, OSHA, etc on democrats.
That will be fun.
Wow! and only several $billion for their IT department!
Of course the computers holding people’s tax info would never crash.
Good night... What is in those EMails??? Obama being a pederast? This seems as though someone is going through a whole lot of trouble....
Been waiting for nearly 2 years on IRS to take care of my brother’s final tax return. (Waco on FR). They have ask for the same form 5 times in the last year, perhaps his info was on those crashed computers!??? He must be laughing down on us now!
Golly! I wonder how many tax payers files have been lost? I’ll make a wild guess though...ZERO?
I’ve got a hundred that says the e-mails go directly to the Whitehouse.
So, why would anyone believe anything the Obama administration has to say. They are in your face destroying everything.
Well I am wondering why they don’t release them. The only thing will get Obama impeached is if he really were a pederast, not just an ordinary banana republic election fraud crook... And even if pederasty were the case it’s only 50-50 if they would be starting impeachment proceedings... Racism charge, you know, trumps everything...
If there were lots of mail server crashes, there would’ve been lots of unhappy users. Surely, those users reported their issues to a help desk somewhere, and surely those reports would’ve been logged as a trouble ticket. Pull those trouble tickets, and pull those maintenance logs. Now.
These ‘Keystone Cops’ that run the IRS are the dumbest bunch of clowns on record!
How were they even able to GET their jobs? What school for idiots did they graduate from?
These people are so stupid. They are playing to the low-information crowd. Anyone who knows anything about emails would be able to put together the fact that if you can access your email account from more than one machine, the emails do not exist only on one machine. I use dozens of different computers during the day, and several at home. I can get my work email on any of my home computers and my phone. I can access my work email from anywhere on the campus, on one any of 600 computers. I have emails in the waste basket that go back six or seven years, and they are available on every computer.
My work email backs up every single email I ever send or receive, regardless of whether it is spam or anything useful. They archive every message that passes through the server just in case someone wants to sue someone else. If I were to say “nice dress” to a female employee, they could get every single email I had ever sent or received and produce them to her lawyer, in less than a week. If they didn’t take time to think about it or route the request through multiple departments, the could get them in a few hours.
What we are getting here is a refusal of the Powers That Be to actually address the issue. When you have people saying her hard drive was destroyed and that is why we can’t get her emails, they are lying. THEY ARE LYING! L-Y-I-N-G! The Congressmen on the committee just sit there and say well OK then, but they know better. They want to make it go away while looking like they are doing something about it. And 70% of the people that are watching actually believe this because they are technologically inept.
Wondering if any hard drives “crashed” that didn’t have any connection to Lerner or this targeting scandal.
There’s not a smidgen of scandal at the IRS”, thus sayeth obozo!
Errrr...when the hell are these people going to JAIL??
The odds of winning the Florida lottery are 1 in 22,957,480.
The odds of winning the Powerball is 1 in 175,223,510.
The odds of winning Mega Millions is 1 in 258,890,850.
The odds of a disk drive failing in any given month are roughly one in 36. The odds of two different drives failing in the same month are roughly one in 36 squared, or 1 in about 1,300. The odds of three drives failing in the same month is 36 cubed or 1 in 46,656.
The odds of seven different drives failing in the same month (like what happened at the IRS when they received a letter asking about emails targeting conservative and pro-Israeli groups) is 37 to the 7th power = 1 in 78,664,164,096. (that’s over 78 Billion) In other words, the odds are greater that you will win the Florida Lottery 342 times than having those seven IRS hard drives crashing in the same month.
Sorry IRS, my company’s computers that run payroll all crashed and we don’t have any backups. I cannot tell you how much money we pay our employees, so they cannot reliably report their income for tax purposes this year.
Oh, and our legacy systems that had payroll info for years prior also crashed. That server hardware and tape backups were so old the tapes just disintegrated before our eyes as we tried to restore the data.
So IRS it looks like you’re SOL getting taxes from us.
Signed,
Every Patriot Owned Company In America. FUBO.
This is good news. The more people involved, the more likely it will be that Issa will find one who refuses to lie under oath.
Furthermore, the more crashes there are, the less people will be willing to accept anything the administration says about the IRS matter.
