Crashed MH17 flight 'was 300 miles off typical course'
The London Telegraph ^ | July 18, 2014 | Tom Brooks-Pollock and Edward Malnick

MH17 flight feared to have been shot down over Ukraine was taking a significantly different route to the usual course for flights from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, according to aviation expert.

The crashed MH17 flight took a route 300 miles to the north of its usual path, an aviation expert has said.

Robert Mark, a commercial pilot who edits Aviation International News Safety magazine, said that most Malaysia Airlines flights from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur normally travelled along a route significantly further south than the plane which crashed.

Malaysia Airlines has insisted its plane travelled on an "approved route" used by many other carriers.

But Mr Mark said: "I can only tell you as a commercial pilot myself that if we had been routed that way, with what's been going on in the Ukraine and the Russian border over the last few weeks and months, I would never have accepted that route....

Something stinks about this. Just like something stuck about the last Malaysian airliner incident.

Agreed. Does somebody have it in for the airline, their insurer, or their reinsurer? Maybe some other carrier wants those routes?

What has not been released is that there had been a total of 12 shootdowns in the previous months, but not above 7,000 feet, so no concern was noted.

However, last Tuesday there was a shootdown at 22,000 feet, indicating a vehicle mounted anti-aircraft system was in play.

In the words of a commercial pilot on another forum, "elevation is not your friend":

Ranges for MANPADs generally assume the target is high performance aircraft that can maneuver aggressively and deploy countermeasures (chaff, flares, jamming) in response to onboard and remote (e.g. AWACS) tracking, lockon, and/or launch warnings. Indeed, defeating a MANPAD these days is often more about geometry and maneuvers (at 6 to 9Gs) to bleed the missile of its finite supply of kinetic energy, something commercial aircraft are unable to do.

A fighter might be safe from recent versions of Manpads at 20,000, but a commercial airliner might not be 100% safe at 33,000. An SA11 would require well over 50,000 even with counter-measures.

No airline had any business flying over eastern Ukraine, even before the shootdown of the Ukrainian military transport.

This shootdown had nothing to do with religion — unless you count Putin’s total absence of it.

“Sorry, but you’re an idiot. Blaming this on the pilots religion is beyond stupid.”

I guess there are two idiots here tonight, because in my opinion, it could be a factor. So ask yourself, are you comfortable flying with Muzzies at the controls? I have done my share of international flying and I would not set foot in a plane even owned by a Muzzie country.

Total fuel savings for taking the “war zone route?” $1500.

Ok..this could get very ugly..

Because the flight path over that area could of been directed by Ukraine flight control...

So why directed in to a hot area not on normal flight path?

To try to trigger some incident for political gain?. testing defence?

And of course if you listen/watch RT you learn that the tape of the “separatists” bragging about having shot down the plane was doctored according to a specialist they consulted and that the pictures of the launcher from which the shot supposedly came wasn’t taken where it was reported to have been - according to RT the whole tragedy is a Ukraine plot to discredit Russia - strange indeed.....

David Icke, Alex Jones’ British cousin, is saying much the same thing.

Who sets the route? Air traffic control? Does the pilot have a choice?

I'm not a pilot, but pure logic tells me that when flying in another country the pilot may only suggest the route, subject to approval of the ground controller. For example, are Chinese pilots free to fly over any area of the USA?

Godspeed on your trip.

The muslim communist in the WH green lighted his comrade Putin's invasion of Ukraine and is indirectly responsible for the massacre of the Dutch.

At least the Russian Soviets are just saying nyetski to putting SAM's in the hands of imbeciles, at least for a little while.

On the bright side, only 18 days until this foreign faggot American Soviet POS the gibsmedats elected takes yet another really long expensive vacation.

Thank God he doesn't care about the "Lazy Black" stereotype!

RT has nothing on our propagandists.

They are effin amateurs compared to "American" media.

Here is an article about the “bodies” issue and many comments. In Washington, DC there are people marching to protest the Israeli entry into Palestine. Is anyone picketing the Russian embassy demanding that they pressure the rebels to allow entry by the forensic teams to recover the remains?

A friend told me the Dutch have been a country least strong in pressuring Putin to stop the nonsense. I suspect that will change now that they have lost the population equivalent of our 9/11 3,000 dead.
Apparently the pilot had been talking about making the Haj to Mecca this year. Why would a good Muslim commit suicide before making his Haj?

The 300,000-strong Muslim minority makes up less than 15 percent of Crimea’s population of 2 million and has so far been overwhelmingly opposed to Russia’s annexation of the peninsula.
