This is a personal snapshot of inner city gun violence from a man who knows what it feels like:
Claude Motley dropped off a friend late at night on W. Capitol Drive and paused to check his cellphone for emails. Motley, 43, was in Milwaukee for the class reunion of Milwaukee Tech High School from his current hometown of Charlotte, N.C., where he and his wife moved five years ago from Milwaukee to pursue business opportunities.
They wanted to live somewhere else for various reasons, including their concern about rising violence in the city.
Born and raised on the north side of Milwaukee, Motley felt suspicious when a car stopped in his path while he was parked and another began to circle the area near N. 63rd St. Somehow, he knew what was coming.
A bunch of young guys was going to try to carjack him or worse.
"I let my guard down," he said. "I looked up and the guy was rapping on my window with a gun. I punched the gas and hit the car in front of me. ... I pushed it out of the way, I heard the gunshot but I thought it was just a ricochet at first."

--"Motley felt fortunate that he survived a possible crime that could have ended up with him dead on the sidewalk. He realized his experience was a microcosm of the epidemic of crime and guns in inner city America, the seemingly senseless plague of young black males with firearms who have taken the law into their own hands in some areas.

The old adage, “You can never go back”, is in force.
Products of an inferior culture.
Nonsense, people make their own choices. Fatherless
Black males are the result of deliberate actions by other Black males.
You don’t need to make excuses for Blacks, they’re very good at that without any assistance.
I did not mean to imply people don’t make their own choices. What I meant to make clear is that the deliberate destruction of the family by Liberal social policies adopted by the Government have contributed greatly to the destruction of whole swaths of society. Especially those already vulnerable because of lack of economic opportunity and dismal education.
no, it is the total black urban subculture that includes the young females as well.
I thought when a lib moves they put that garbage to the front curve for pick-up by the garbage truck when they get ready to move, meaning, “when in Rome, do as the Romans do” change your attitude.
They can’t see it.
Their worldview is such that noticing that elephant would cause a brain melt. So they literally can’t see it.
Much like our foreign policy the last 25 years or so. It is mad, insane, and will lead to the opposite outcomes hoped for. But they can’t see that.
Yup. He reacted properly. Likely something much worse was going to happen to him. At least he gave himself a chance by fleeing.
He's also questioning exactly what happened to the city where he grew up.
Simple. First, the moral center of the people collapsed and they demanded free sh!t so they voted for it. Then the Progressives took over, gave it to them, and ran the joint into the ground. Then the ferals came along to scavenge over the leftovers. No conscience, no problem.
What is it about this Mr. Motley finds so hard to understand? It's happening all over America.
In Arizona where I used to live, people from all over move there and bring "home" with them, whether pollen producing plants or fail producing politics and attitudes.
I moved to NC and it's the same thing here. People from the lib-killed NE moving here and bringing their society killing lib-disease with them.
Look out, Texas. You think you're safe, but they infected California and they can do it to you, too.
I dunno. Bunch (singular) is the subject of that sentence. Therefore “was” is the correct verb, even if it sounds odd.
