Three more people in Colorado have been diagnosed with the plague after coming in contact with an infected dog whose owner contracted a life-threatening form of the disease, state health officials said on Friday.
In all, four people were infected with the disease from the same source, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment said in a statement.

The destiny of a nation who forsakes God Almighty...
Deuteronomy 28:20-22
20 The Lord will send on you curses, confusion and rebuke in everything you put your hand to, until you are destroyed and come to sudden ruin because of the evil you have done in forsaking him.
21 The Lord will plague you with diseases until he has destroyed you from the land you are entering to possess.
22 The Lord will strike you with wasting disease, with fever and inflammation, with scorching heat and drought, with blight and mildew, which will plague you until you perish.

The bacteria that causes plague occurs naturally in the western United States, primarily in California, New Mexico, Arizona and Colorado, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The illegals didn’t cause this, but they have a host of other maladies awaiting to attack US citizens.
But don’t worry, Obamacare will fix it. /sarc

The bitter fruit of the diseased illegals. Obama is spreading diseases to the American people by allowing this maggot swarm!

I saw an episode of Survivorman where Les Stroud caught a rodent in the southwest desert. He did eat it but wouldn't touch it with his bare hands till he thoroughly cooked it without skinning it.

Fleas are fairly motile, though. Any proximity to an animal carrying plague-ridden fleas might be sufficient for them to “jump ship” right onto you.

Best info I could find was eastern Adams County. Don’t know why they’re being so vague on the exact location.

Almost all human plague cases in Colorado are caused by fools letting fido romp joyously through infected prairie dog colonies.
And we usually have several cases every year, with most being in the several-county area in my neck of the not-woods.

There was an incident a few years back where an biologist monitoring the populations of mountain lions found a dead lion. It had passed from the plague. The poor fellow attempted a post mortem examination and the body burst on him, covering him in infected blood and bacteria. He died within days.
Here's the story: Remembering Eric York 1970-2007
