United Nations: The UN Security Council will hold an emergency meeting today morning on Ukraine.
Britain's UN Mission said yesterday it requested the meeting and later tweeted that it is set for 10 am today.
The request follows Wednesday's downing of a Ukrainian air force fighter and yesterday's downing of a Malaysia Airlines passenger plane carrying 295 people over eastern Ukraine.
Britain has proposed a Security Council press statement calling for "a full, thorough and independent international investigation into the incident."
The statement, obtained by The Associated Press, was circulated to all 15 council members, who must approve it before it can be issued.

From what I have been reading, the BUK can be operated individually by it’s operators in “Emergency Mode”.
Would that some be the Russian cossacks who brought down the plane keeping everybody else from the crash site???

Apparently a bunch of AIDS scientists and delegates were on-board and a spokesperson for WHO, headed to a conference in Australia. In other words the whole world is probably going to be angry about this.
The plane in that video was one taken down in Afghanistan....if you followed threads about this you would have seen Freepers identifying it properly for what it is.
The Actual plane that went down had portions break apart in the air as well as the explosion on landing.
Good idea not to jump to conclusion unless following threads concerning this event, you will see some are trying to determine what really happened and posting what they find...if not accurate others will identify so....and the better freepers do so without prefacing names and insults.

There is no way you can keep an incident undisturbed when peoples lives are at stake and any chance finding some who have survived.

That’s a very tricky decision they will be making if they decide to do so. Ukraine is not a member of Nato....legally Nato forces cannot enter the country.
But all parties are pretty much breaking International Law so who knows what will be next in ultimately stopping the bombardments and bombing. Same in Syria, Iraq....and other conflicts.....will always depend on what resources or significance of a nation is in how they eventually respond or don’t respond.
So when are the Russians going to turn the black boxes over to the Malaysians, and when are their Donetsk comrades going to allow Malaysia, the Netherlands, etc to send a team in there to gather up their dead and begin their investigation???

At the UN Sec. Meeting... US Rep. Samantha Powers admitted in her statements that others can operate these systems so she could not blame Russia directly at this time.
What is amazing is how the US/Britain/Ukraine at the UN pretty much used the ‘same vocabulary’ in their speeches...and then later so did Obama in his speech.
What was also stunning was Malaysia’s Un Rep. statments were interrupted at the UN while media switched to obamas talking points in the crash.
Legalities come into play since Donetsk does not recognize Kiev Gov. , by International Law Ukraine should be the lead in the investigation, but because they are at war it muddies the waters.
Oddly enough Obama claimed today the US will continue to take the lead in Ukraine......
Last I read the Anti-Kiev force leaders will turn over the boxes to The Independant Investigators who will be going to the site.
