The Democrats owe a growing debt to the Republican red-hots pursuing the fantasy of impeaching Barack Obama. They're collecting a lot of cash -- probably not as much as they claim, but a lot -- from the naive and excitable folks in the Democratic base. Outrage is easily convertible to cash, as every bagman knows, and the Republicans should get a cut of it. Fair is fair.
Sarah Palin, who as a former governor knows better than to confuse hoping with doing, is leading the baying hounds this week. She told an audience the other day that "the many impeachable offenses of President Obama can no longer be ignored. If after all this, he's not impeachable, then no one is."
She's right about that second part. No one is. We've tried impeachment twice, and neither time the weapon worked.

#1 - Obama is being accused of vote tampering. That’s one of the reasons why he should be impeached. The IRS scandal is the biggest voter harassment story, but it’s not the only one.
#2 - The President keeps promising to “go it alone” - i.e. without Congress. From immigration to jobs to the environment the President keeps telling us that he will take action if the Congress won’t.
#3 - WHEN IS SOMEONE GOING TO START FIGHTING THIS GUY???????????????????????????
Except for one fact. If impeached, all executive actions are voided. That is an attractive prospect.
Holder gone would unleash the floodgates. Obama might resign.
:: #3 - WHEN IS SOMEONE GOING TO START FIGHTING THIS GUY??????????????????????????? ::
You a racist.
End of discussion.
Shut-up and assimilate.
Et tu Washington Times?
Leading the baying hounds? She sure gets under a lot of DC skin, doesn’t she?
Oh, and the WT chose a couple of unflattering pics of Sarah to go along with this *piece* on her — they also conveniently included the “most Americans are over Sarah Palin” poll, embedded in this *article*.
Stay classy, WT...you’re coming across more like HuffPo or other lefty sites. Maybe I’ve missed something and this going after Sarah Palin, by the WT, is nothing new.
I agree on too late for impeachment and elections.
There is a rogue politician on the loose and he is pushing (I strongly believe) for a physical show down with the people in order to stay in power after 2016.
If he were to be impeached would he still be able to retire on our dime?
What part of the Constitution is that in?

Seventy Percent of the Public opposed ObamaCare so they should not have gone forward because they couldn't win, is that your position?
States can remove their right to vote, just like for felons.
Really?
Our country has became a big Chicago.
That is the no-brainer, must-do. I don't know why more people aren't talking about THAT.
Even if the liberal republican leadership had a majority in the Senate, they are liberal. They aren't going to impeach Obama.

I have yet to hear the roar of impeachment for the fact of protecting the Republic, the Constitution and the Rule of Law.
I note that most posts, and talk, center around the issue of politics in re: impeachment. It’s all what’s good/bad for the XYZ Party (polls or the next vote).
Sad to see such from this board, at the least. I expected as much from the GOP/RNC. Either lay out how the man has overstepped, ruled from on high, acted again the Republic, etc. and go for impeachment (win or lose) or finally admit the Republic and Constitution have long been dead. This is NOT some popularity contest, and I would stand up for anyone willing to go the gambit than stick their finger to the wind while the Country burns in the background.
More than willing to surrender before the shot is fired. Another Vichy Republican.
Re: “I agree, we need to wait till we win the Senate in November.”
If the election was held today, we would win only 4 of the 6 Democrat seats we need for a majority.
We also have a very real risk of losing a Republican seat in Kentucky or Georgia.

The threat of impeachment was once a major factor in limiting presidential abuse (see Nixon) but that threat is only relevant to Caucasian presidents.
In politics, as in so much of life, timing is everything--and to attempt impeachment now, with the current Senate, would be a mistake. It is not a mistake however, for serious voices to speak of impeachment publicly, now, and to address it as a respectable option that could and should be considered. The idea needs to be made valid to the public, whether or not it is ever enacted.
Discussion about impeachment for abuse of power will focus the public on the real issue. It will help to organize peoples' thinking about why Obama is a threat to the nation, clarify the malfeasance that has been perpetrated, and pressure the republican majority to begin to act like a loyal opposition instead of a feckless peanut gallery.
During the Nixon hearings the nation was exposed at times to some truly sober and eloquent discussion of profound issues of governance.
Impeachment hearings on Obama, whether they ever lead to impeachment or not, will be an unrivalled opportunity for serious people to educate the public on what has been done to them by their government while they slept, what are the legitimate restraints on government power that have been abused, and what are the needs for reparation.
Yes, at the very least.
I would hope that folks here who don't want to proceed with impeachment should at least be for writing articles of impeachment.
