Last month, I was very happy to hear that Mitt Romney was considering another run. Frankly, I think that he is one of the most qualified people ever denied the presidency.
Over the last few weeks, Gov Perry has been at the forefront of the "kids on the border issue." He represents people who are directly impacted by the chaos on the border.
Over the weekend, Gov Perry moved beyond the border and wrote a column about President Obama's foreign policy. It was strong. He challenged isolationism and he is right:
"As a veteran, and as a governor who has supported Texas National Guard deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, I can understand the emotions behind isolationism.
Many people are tired of war, and the urge to pull back is a natural, human reaction.
Unfortunately, we live in a world where isolationist policies would only endanger our national security even further."
Gov Perry also took on Senator Rand Paul's view of the world. He also aligned himself with President Reagan's foreign policy - the projection of strength and maintaining a strong defense.
Gov Perry also has his Texas' economic record to talk about. Frankly, a lot of Americans may want to hear how Texas does it in 2016.

“Hate” my ass. People who attribute well-though objections to “hate” are kidding themselves.
I agree. If he runs again, I'll bet he does an even better job of losing.
"Bring out your Goldsteins!"
As opposed to the multitude of fools supposedly on the other side, who made Romney their president? Who if he won would enact the same tyrannical agenda from homosexual marriage to global warming to nationalized health care to abortion to immigration to gun control?
Americans are smarter than that and it is why more and more of them are staying home on election day. Leftists are the minority in America; it is why they have to cheat, and they do. They even cheat in the Republican party, as we saw in Mississippi. For their candidates to get in office, they have to cheat because they are the minority.
Americans are smart enough to know that they're being deprived of an option at the ballot box. They are smart enough to know that a choice between a Democrat and a Romney or even a Perry is sadly laughable. (Sorry, Perry supporters, but show where Perry has shown real proclivity for core limited government in concept, as have Palin and Cruz; what role does Texas government have in the sex lives of public high school students? I know it seems like a single-issue thing, but a guy that thinks government has any role, let alone one that would push medical immunizations benefitting pharmaceuticals, is obviously missing a core concept of limited government) --
-- in any case, Americans are smarter than that. I remember Perot, I remember how excited his followers, whom I thought misguided at the time, were to vote for him. I voted for the Republican, dogged in the faith that the Republican would advocate for less government. "Read my lips."
Clinton won twice, though a majority opposed him both times, and he was steamrolled by the Republican Revolution and then impeached. A plurality win was good for conservatism, at least as good as if "Read my lips" or good ol' Dole had won.
I'm older and wiser and so are a whole helluva lotta legitimate, real Americans. Not the harvested, faked, dead, multiple, illegal, and ginned Democrat figments of imagination, but real Americans.
That's what I see, and I don't know if it's scary so much as it is .. . well, heartening. I do believe in America, and I do believe that at heart, we are "Do unto others as I would have them do unto me" kinds of folks prepared to lovingly illuminate the paths of intelligent, angry, but Freedom-loving American yutes brainwashed by government schools usurped by a liberal minority. We have all the ingredients in place. No cake walk, but nothing worthwhile is.
As Gary Cooper would say ... Yep.
oh ya....and you wouldn’t notice any difference today, would you?
Huckabee is little more than a stalking horse for the establishment. Do not trust him nor waste your money or vote supporting him.
Re: Nixon and history. Yes, he got impeached.
Actually, Nixon resigned before the House formally voted to impeach.
However, my point was he lost two elections (one for president, one for governor ) prior to winning the next two and it took 6 years for him to recover from his previous loss.
It is however, arguable that he REALLY lost his election to JFK.There was massive fraud in that election and it all boiled down to Chicago ( yes, Obama’s home town ).
I will never vote for Cruz he seems insincere and cartoonish in a villain kind of way.
Ok, quit playing junior shrink and read his writings and listen to the depth of the positions he takes.
Tell me which of his positions you disagree with.
