NEW YORK In his new full-length documentary film, Theres No Place Like Utopia, Joel Gilbert found Peggy Joseph, the Florida voter who became infamous during the 2008 presidential campaign for saying Barack Obama would pay for my gas and my mortgage.
Surprisingly, some six years into the Obama presidency, Joseph has turned against the president, disappointed that he did not deliver on his hope and change campaign promises.
Peggy reminded me of Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz, who thought the magical wizard would solve all her problems, Gilbert told WND in an interview.
He provided an excerpt of Joseph in the film.
When I finally found her address, I knocked on her door and brought her a pair of ruby slippers. When I interviewed Peggy, I was astonished that Peggy explained that she was now anti-Obama. She told me, He was not who we thought or expected him to be.
As Gilbert interviewed Joseph for his documentary, he was surprised to learn her life was quite opposite of the welfare mother image she had given on television.
He was shocked to learn she was a suburban soccer mom with four children, who earned her living as a hard-working nurse, the daughter of Haitian immigrants.
Even more surprising, Joseph and her children, just like her Haitian immigrant parents, had no history of ever accepting any form of government assistance or taxpayer-funded handouts.
Truth and honesty are important, Joseph explained to Gilbert in the film. He lied about everything.

Dumb masses

Then why the gibsmedat rant?
It seems to be a genetic problem.Preprogrammed from birth to spew the gibsmedat rant.
Probably out of excitement. A lot of people were saying this crap back then.
To some, the temptation of free evathang is just too much. You know nobody ever actually came out and officially said that if the lyin’ king was selected you’d get free stuff but you also gotta know the underlying current had that goin around and that whitey would finally have to fess up for all those years of white privilege. Guess that didn’t quite pan out did it? And yet, there he is in his 2nd term. Sheesh!
“It seems to be a genetic problem.Preprogrammed from birth to spew the gibsmedat rant.”
I was really surprised because she is Haitian; here in north Jersey they put American blacks in the cities to shame. Most are hard-working, with intact families.
“Probably out of excitement. A lot of people were saying this crap back then.”
Maybe; usually people as motivated as the author portrays this woman to be despise such rhetoric.
I bet she still votes Dem in the 2016 election.
Either the author is lying about how hard-working this woman is, or he is lying about the public assistance. I can’t connect to the link, but I see she is a mother; is she a wife as well?
Have we finally run out of other people’s money?
The deceit and the despicable nature of the Obama campaign is that it painted a general, vague, rosy promise of what America would be with Obama as president. Unicorns and rainbows, or gas and mortgage paid for - whatever you wanted to think, his campaign allowed for it and never said “no, we really won’t do that”.
They were under the illusion that he would be “pro-black”,
when in reality he is simply anti-White and anti-Christian,
which, for some, is still enough.
Statistically for her demographic, 90% unlikely.
Well, that will be the big test. will these disaffected Democrats still just vote Democrat all the time???
As when everything the left does fails, they always say “we didn’t do/spend enough”.
Maybe he just needs another term in office to live up to his promises?
The problem I am finding is that when liberals put down the Kool-Aid glass of one politician, it instantly opens that hand to pick up another one.
