Who was the corrupt DA (or whomever) that declared this death a “homicide”, I’d like to know?

Technically speaking, it was a homicide. Anytime someone kills another, it's homicide. Homicide has many categories; accidental, negligent, and in this case, justifiable. Homicide does not necessarily mean "murder" which this certainly does not appear to be.

“Homicide” is legalese for death by other than natural causes. The police called it “self defense” so I would think it falls under the category of justifiable homicide.

There’s no doubt it was a homicide. In this case it was a JUSTIFIED homicide.

Every death is classified as accident, natural causes, or homicide. If somebody is killed intentionally it is homicide. No value judgment, that’s what it is.
