Technically speaking, it was a homicide. Anytime someone kills another, it's homicide. Homicide has many categories; accidental, negligent, and in this case, justifiable. Homicide does not necessarily mean "murder" which this certainly does not appear to be.
That’s fair, but I thought it a bad thing that the media is playing it up especially by omitting the word “justifiable”.
In this case it would be for the other perp involved.
