Bail was set at $150,000 for the release of Curtis Reeves, 71, accused of second-degree murder in the shooting death of Chad Oulson, 43
Appeals court ruled that a district judge may have made an error by failing to set bail for Reeves
Reeves shot and killed Oulson at a movie theater in January after a dispute over text messaging
The former police captain must stay home, wear an ankle monitor, surrender his guns and avoid contact with victim's widow
'We are flooded, we are devastated,' said lawyer representing Nicole Oulson after news of Reeves' impending release

He’s not going anywhere.
How many people have been charged with assault by throwing a bag of popcorn? This is the premise of your assumption. That Reeves was defending himself against potentially deadly assault. Not surprisingly the District Attorney and most of the posters on this thread disagree with your premise.
The fact Reeves initiated and escalated the confrontation proves him as the aggressor.
Take a look at Reeves’ arraignment photo versus more recent photos. It is clearly evident that this is a case of testosterone and steroid use gone wrong. Someone didn’t take the warning labels seriously and made a terrible mistake.
This is not a self defense case. Reeves is charged with murder and is fully accountable for the consequence of his action.
It is not. I didn't read further.
“I can’t seem to get any of the badge-polishers to respond to the fact that mere peasants who conceal-carry are required to retreat from confrontations, and are HEAVILY TRAINED to retreat.
And they’re reminded multiple times that they’re going to prison if they don’t retreat.
How’s about you, meatloaf? Any thoughts on that little factoid?”
*Crickets chirping*
Can you link video that to me?
Thanks in advance!
Good observation. Reeves wanted a confrontation, and he got it. Now he’s claiming to be a victim.
-Look at this ape. Does he look like a little guy who is unable unable to defend himself? If he was afraid of being hit, he should have moved to another seat. The theater was more than half empty. But I suppose you're going to justify deadly force, even AFTER he got up, and went to the lobby.
“Its ok to disturb people during preview, just not during the regular movie.”
-and Reeves shooting someone DEAD didn't disturb anyone's day? -how many people does this jackass get to threaten with being hit by an errant bullet?

The deputies and paramedics who examined Reeves after the shooting saw no visible marks of any kind on him. None. But perhaps you can point out to the rest of us, the extent of his injuries received from the popcorn assault. Here's some photos of Reeves from immediately afterwards to refresh your recollection of the incident.
As for “disturbing people” how many people's lives were disturbed by Reeves firing a weapon in a movie theater? Did the movie continue after the shooting?

Nope.
- They are as predictable as they are wrong.
The deputy was an eye witness to the events immediately after the shooting, and his account of the demeanor and words of the defendant, Reeves, were backed up by 3 witnesses.
Excellent comments as always, Darius.
+1.
A 71 year old guy should be ready to deflect the punch of a younger guy. Its ok to disturb people during preview, just not during the regular movie.???.....I think you posted to the wrong person, Skippy.
I was thinking, what if the shooter had been a 20’s black male with tatoos and a gold tooth. How different would this thread be? Instead we had an old white ex-cop shooter and that changes the flavor of the thread. It should make no difference. The shooter should be held to the fullest sanction the law can give.

Outrageous...This guy should have never been released.
Thanks Chip
