Following a particularly violent Fourth of July weekend, violence in Chicago continued Saturday with 21 people shot overnight, including three people wounded outside a Northwest Side pizza restaurant.
The shooting took place around 10 p.m. Friday in the 6000 block of West Fullerton Avenue when someone opened fire on three people outside Marco’s Pizza in the Belmont-Cragin neighborhood, according to authorities.

I think it’s the (rather good) medical care available in Chicago. The doctors in the county hospital probably have more experience with gunshot victims than most doctors who served in Iraq.

and the only way we'd ever have that many shootings is if their scumbags came down here.

While many FReepers rightly criticize the permanent welfare class in this country, it is important to understand that the sacrifice of your welfare bastards (or your own) may be required for your life of leisure. I don’t believe the majority of gibsmedats love their children at all, and simply breed them for cash. I’m no saint, but there is nothing I wouldn’t do to keep my wife and children from these environments.
That’s not the problem. The problem is that Uncle Sugar will reward you for having a baby without a husband or father around. In Illinois you get more money with each kid, whether one or 14. Worse, if you’re “disabled”, your kid’s grandmother can also foster care for them at about $1000/kid/month.

Chicago needs to outlaw guns and drugs. That would solve the problem.

Hmmmm, getting good "combat" medical experience in the USA is a sad commentary.
The problem is FATHERLESS boys. They grow up not having the "dad discipline," utterly ABANDONED by the male figure in the home, and therefore don't know TWO crucial things:
1. they DON'T now how to deal with adult male authority and
2. they DON'T know how to deal with adult male WHITE authority.
Our penitentiaries are full of fatherless males.

I would suspect that 20 to 25 % of Chicago murders are by “other than firearms” but these seem to never be mentioned.
In my worldview, logic trumps emotion. I'm too much the agnostic, having known WAY too many hypocritical "Christians" to have any belief in what they were selling. It's why, if and when there is a CW2, I will, no doubt, be labeled a war criminal.
Everyone is going to die. What you contribute to the world before that is your legacy.
Druggies are the slow ones who would have gotten in the way of the mammoth. The Chinese simply executed them out of hand, recognizing a genetic weakness. Our current Morality forbids that kind of eugenic solution. (I might point out that you do not hear much of drug abuse in the PRC, or among the Asian population here in the US. Is it coincidence?)
Why not let them painlessly kill themselves, since they can't handle reality?
I know what to do! Chicago should put up thousands of those “gun-free” zones signs everywhere, that would solve the problem.
