How could someone filled with such promise plunge so far, so fast? How does one go from national icon to national laughingstock?
Thats exactly what has happened to Sarah Palin, the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee.
Once arguably the GOPs most charismatic celebrity, Palin is now better known for thriving in this role of right wing shock jock as Nicolle Wallace, a former senior adviser for the John McCain-Palin campaign, now puts it.
Its a far cry from Sept. 3, 2008, when Palin, then the largely unknown Alaska governor, confidently strode onto the stage at the Republican National Convention as McCains running mate and introduced herself to the world. It was a breakthrough moment supporters saw in her a political outsider, a feisty advocate for conservative values, and a hockey mom with five children (including one son on his way to fight in Iraq and another born with Down syndrome).
On the campaign trail, Palin electrified voters portraying herself up as governor who stood up to special interests, lobbyists, big oil companies and the good-ol boys network. And to the delight of the partys base voters, she painted then-Democratic nominee Barack Obama, as an out-of-touch elitist who had nothing to offer but empty promises....

Thank you for pointing that out. I went and I voted, but I was in the 8% group, that admires her.
That was Det. Bobby Goren's arch-enemy on "Law and Order: Criminal Intent."
Bobby never caught her. His mentor murdered her as a gift to Bobby. (It's a long story.)
How does a "laughing stock" continue to live rent free in the minds of the libtards?
I am even more sure that I will vote for Sarah now.
Dear Mrs. Palin, you are clearly over target, judging by the flak.
Is this like 7 years old?
Sounds like the GOP establishment fears Palin more than they fear Hillary. I would also go so far as saying, Palin is all that Hillary needs to go against her that will giver her the shakes. Rice/Palin together would make Hillary go totally ballistic. Fear not, the GOP will screw the 2016 election again with the same ole, same ole type of choice. No one in DC wants anyone who will go in and kill their golden goose.
Maybe the politicians and the media are scared because we are fast becoming rebellious teenagers? GO FOR THE JUGULAR, SARAH!
precisely... and as far as the MSM is concerned, she has always been their laughingstock... she is relevant, and more so than head-case John McCain
you know, i wonder why they don't write such pieces on Al Gore or John Edwards... both of those once "prominent" politicians have devolved into irrelevancy... and true laughingstock status...
You’d think so, wouldn’t you. Nope, it was written today. BTW, I’m still trying to find Aliyah’s maiden name. She married Ben Frumin in 2012. I think that would be interesting to know, nicht wahr?
The Palmetto Scoop reported: "One of the first stories to hit the national airwaves was
the claim of a major internal strife between close McCain aides and the folks handling his running mate Sarah Palin."
"Im told by very good sources that this was indeed the case and that a rift had developed, but it was between Palins people and the staffers brought on from the failed presidential campaign of former Gov. Mitt Romney, not McCain aides."
"The sources said nearly 80 percent of Romneys former staff was absorbed by McCain and these individuals were responsible for what amounts to a premeditated, last-minute sabotage of Palin."
aides loyal to Romney inside the McCain campaign, said The Scoop, reportedly saw
that Palin would be a serious contender for the Republican nomination in 2012 or 2016, which made her a threat to another presidential quest by Romney.
"These staffers are now out trying to finish her off .hoping it would ingratiate themselves with Mitt Romney."

Mitt Romney Sends Leftover Pizza to Obama Chicago HQ
After spending the day in Chicago fundraising, Mitt Romney
sat down with small business owners at Gino's East,
a pizza joint famous for their deep-dish pizza.
In fact, Romney himself tweeted a photo of a

"Great deep dish at @ginoseast.
Sending the extra slices to @barackobama and his Chicago HQ team."

Yet another article on how “irrelevant” or “unthreatening” or “laughable” Sarah Palin is. For someone so ostensibly marginal, she sure seems to keep the Left’s interest.
I personally, know several people that has known Sarah from when she was a little girl..
All say she was special, honest, very smart, hard working, and spiritual all her life..
and so is the rest of her family and Todds(husband) family as well..
If someone does not like Sarah.. “mark them”... some thing is WRONG with them..
I can’t think of anyone who has posted more anti-Palin propaganda here than you. I am flabbergasted you’re still around
I am sure that I'll hear a lot more about Sarah, though.
