Regardless of the legal issues, the children should be treated humanely. If that is all that Beck proposes, I agree. As I wrote, many of these children are apparently exploiting asylum laws, and that will need to be addressed. However, they are still children who we should take care of while they are here. We can’t simply push them back across the border once they are in our custody, because many (most?) of them are not Mexican.
I don’t have a problem with denying them entry in the first place. Mexico can create refugee camps on their side of the border for all I care, but once these children are in our country and legally claiming asylum, we have an obligation to follow our laws and treat them humanely. Would you deny them food, housing, or medical treatment?
Why privately subsidize this Obama scheme?
We oppose it and want the them returned and forbidden entrance in the first place, do you think the federal government is going to bring them in and then starve them while in federal custody, if we don’t raise private funds?
What do you think of the actions of the Philistines who are using children as human shields?
