See what a nice guy Putin is. But you know those missile bases they use to have there. He might want to reopen them as payback for our intervention in Ukraine. Cold War II

Very nice gesture.
Although there was probably less than a snowball’s chance in h*ll the Russians would ever see a dime.
Myself, I would have taken payment in Havana cigars.

Cold War II All the more reason to keep those SLBM's and ICBM's in good working order, while working on getting Russia back to its 13th century boundaries. Russia's genocidal impulses appear to have survived the Romanovs and the Bolsheviks without skipping a beat.

May as well write it off as bad debt because Cuba sure isn’t going to pay.

A little history. When the Soviet Union went bankrupt, Russia took on all the assets and liabilities. They immediately negotiated the liabilities down and gained some resources in the process. The assets they kept active, such as these but you can bet they were not released for nothing.

Cuba will give Putin what he wants even military bases or else. Cuba is shaking in their shoes and made a pack with the devil. Putin could destroy Cuba in about 1/2 a day and Castro's hanging from a Cuban tree in a hot second.

When I visited Cuba a few years ago, I was struck by all the memorials to the "Periodo Especial" that followed the break up of the Soviet Union. Those were very bad times indeed -- for ordinary Cubans at least. Of course the Castro regime escaped blame -- despite refusing to accept humanitarian aid from the U.S.A. for nearly 5 years.

This is why the libs want to end the “embargo” against Cuba. What they really mean is giving Fidel “credit” to “buy” US goods. Cuba can buy all of the food and medical supplies it could ever want from the US. The key word here is “buy”, as in cash money. Fidel is the biggest deadbeat in the world.
