NEW YORK Big-box retailer Costco pulled Dinesh DSouzas new book, America: Imagine a World Without Her, after marketing it on shelves for one month, but Chief Financial Officer Richard Galanti told WND the decision was not motivated by political considerations.
The book, heavily critical of Barack Obama, was officially released June 2. A corporate decision to return the books was issued July 1, just as a companion movie by DSouza, was being released to coincide with the July 4 Independence Day weekend.
Galanti confirmed to WND the pull order was in effect and that DSouzas book is in the process of being removed from Costco stores this week, with the goal to have all copies of DSouzas book out of Costco stores nationwide and shipped back to the vendor no later than July 15.
He said the decision to pull DSouzas book was not political but was based solely on sales, arguing Costcos national goal is to market books that show up on the New York Times bestseller list.
The book will make the New York Times list July 13.
Galanti could not explain why Costco book buyer Pennie Clark Ianniciello decided to pull the book just as DSouzas movie was being released and the national marketing campaign on the book and movie switched into high gear.

Me too and not holding my breath either!
No, no Sam’s Club nearby but WalMart has lots of food stuffs so no great loss. This story sounds kinda familiar. Didn’t Costco do the same thing with another conservative book a few years ago? Same excuse about they only leave them out for a month or something. As I said, there were stacks of “Hard Choices” at my Cotsco, but no “America” and also no copies of “Blood Feud” either.
I guess D’nesh cannot send the IrS after them like Hillary could or Harry Reid shaking the Koch Brothers...
Costco needed the warehouse space to store all of Hillary’s books.
I did the same.
I sent an email, too. Fourth of July week and they’re trying to muzzle what its customers read? I bet whoever reads their email is having a lot of fun today. <^..^>
Pretty simple! I CAN LIVE WITHOUT Costco.
Done.
I sent Galanti an email asking if Costco was going to charge an additional fee to gain entrance to the book burnings....
I’ve been a member since 1988 and live by my Costco American Express. This is a tough one for me. I’m really tempted to cancel my membership. I’ll see if it goes back on the shelf when it hits the best seller’s list.
Meanwhile, is Hillary’s stinker there?
SO BUY IT ON AMAZON hardcover and/or kindle (HARDCOVER for your bookshelves - one for every member of your family and a few for family yet to be. That way, the truth will be available to them for decades to comes.
sing them your family members - with instructions to keep them and pass them down...also assign each school age child to read it and discuss -
Looks like a really good opportunity to pressure the “Suits” at COSTCO to supply loyal customers with the products that THEY want.
GO FOR IT!
BTW, “Silence means consent.”
I think Costco was the store that put the Bible in the fiction section. Idiots.
Boy, these Costco people can’t even lie very well. They let Hillary Clinton do book signings at their stores but her book, Hard Choices, didn’t sell sh*t. How do they explain that dichotomy?
Where are the headlines declaring that Costco is racist? That might end it.
I sent an email letting them know that while they say this is not political, it’s clear that it is. I’ll take all my business to a competitor. They don’t have a lock on the market. They’re free to choose what they sell and I’m free to choose where I buy (excluding healthcare).
Buy the book from Amazon and send a copy of your receipt to Costco and Costco’s board.
The board should be approached by stock holders as to why they allowed left wingers to eliminate a best seller from the books they sold.
It is currently #3 on Amazon. So if it isn’t selling at Costco, it was not on the shelves. It would not be the first time the left wingers in control of Costo didn’t sell a conservative book.

Like you, I feel that this isn’t the first time the left wingers at Costco have done this. I can’t recall the books they censured by not carrying them.
Thanks for the email address - I told them if they don’t bring the book back I’m pulling my membership.
