WASHINGTON Increasingly, across this city, the I word is being heard.
Impeachment is being brought up by Republicans outraged over Barack Obamas usurpations of power and unilateral rewriting of laws. And Obama is taunting John Boehner and the GOP: So sue me.
Democrats are talking impeachment to rally a lethargic base to come out and vote this fall to prevent Republicans from taking control of the Senate, and with it the power to convict an impeached president.
Still, Republicans should drop the talk of impeachment.

Per usual.
But Dingy will not let it happen.
Geez, Pat...just take your doggone IRA, 401K, whatever money you’ve stashed away and go off and be irrelevant like you have been effectively for 20 years. Sheesh.......
Who cares what you think.
Pat is absolutely right.
The base is not “lethargic”, it is outraged - at the GOP - for being dead flies and doing nothing in the face of this assault on the country
I quite adamantly disagree but would like to hear your opinion as to why.
Pat is exactly right. Obama will never be convicted. Ever. Of anything, anywhere any time. It is a fools errand which he welcomes to “gin up his base”.
I often find myself in disagreement with Pat, but he is right here. Huge waste of time and effort, nothing would come of it, except motivating the moron vote.. No thanks.
No backbone for Pat, no accountability for Obama.
Actions have consequences. As Charles Stanley often says:
“You reap what you sow, more than you sow, and later than you sow.”
“Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.” Galatians 6:7
1 Vice President of the United States Joe Biden (D)
2 Speaker of the House John Boehner (R)
3 President pro tempore of the Senate Patrick Leahy (D)
4 Secretary of State John Kerry (D)
5 Secretary of the Treasury Jacob Lew (D)
6 Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel (R)
7 Attorney General Eric Holder (D)
Because it would accomplish nothing but to rally a disillusioned Obama base. We don’t have the votes to get rid of him and won’t as long as he’s President. It would just be another fail for the Republicans.
Despite the obvious partisans in the Senate, by the time AOI makes its way up the chain, the Senate would presumably have a Republican majority and may very well unseat BHO. The only case I could see for not bringing AOI would be that the trial very well could elicit a Democratic surge in the polls this November.
What is your thesis?
So, what are we supposed to do? Just grab our ankles and take it in the backside? I’m beginning to suspect Pat LIKES being abused.
LAWS WERE BROKEN. PEOPLE HAVE DIED.
DAMMIT......I WANT SOMEONE TO GO TO JAIL!
Where’s the outrage, people? What happened to us?
As to Pat.....I’ve known he was an ignorant cowardly wimp for years. Any body who reads his stuff deserves the loss of wasted time from their lives
Logical fallacy of sorts. Just because of the untintended consequences (whether or not they happen), that is no reason to refrain from doing what is just and right. The colonist wanted to avoid confrontation with Mother England for basically the same premice, that bad things would happen. The fight must be fought to preserve liberty.
My hesitation is that, were BHO to be impeached yet not removed, it would embolden him to press further with his anti-American agenda.
