"Two Death Camps Places of Horror (by Daniel T. Brigham) 13"
"...German 'carelessness' engendered by more than two years of successful concealment of the existence of two 'model extermination camps for Jews' at Auschwitz and Birkenau, in Upper Silesia has final led to the revelation of many startling facts and figures concerning their operation for the two years ended April 15, 1944, during which the execution and 'disposal' of 1,715,000 Jews were effected 'without a hitch'. "
Yes, page 13, but there it is again: war-time reporting on the Holocaust.

Yes, page 13, . . .I don't necessarily post stories in the same order they appeared originally. This was not a page one story but it could have accompanied the lead article about the Red Army's progress and appeared on page 5 of the N.Y. Times. Probably not as far back as pg 13.

Can you imagine the outrage if this happened today?
And did you check out the republicans wanting to abolish the poll tax by constitutional amendment?
Times change....
