My daughter's mom saw this movie today in Metrowest Boston.
She told me the theater was only about half full (5:30pm show), but here is what she texted me about it:
"You have to see it!! It will give u hope. Everyone cheered in the end, and I can't stop crying."
Yes, I saw it Wednesday with friends. Not much of a turnout for the matinee, but it was a wonderful movie. Had me in tears in several spots. Every patriot should see it & should drag their commie-loving relatives to see!
If I did see it, I wouldn’t tell you for fear of an IRS audit.
We saw it on Wednesday at 5. Not much of a turnout, since it was midweek and late afternoon. But regardless, it was VERY GOOD. Go see it - uplifting, celebratory, well made. We loved it. Made me furious too - those thugs in DC must go. Tar & Feathers, never a bad idea.
If you’re on FR, then you’re already being scheduled for an audit. ;-)
Hey, I live in Metrowest and I’m going to see it next week. I remember his first movie, Obama 2016 and the theatre was packed!
Just when the left starts to feel comfortable in gaining a foothold on squishing the American sprite ... along comes D’Souza with this outstanding film. A must see.
And imagine that FR is a little drop in the bucket. They’ve got millions pegged.
Not only the thugs in DC. We need to totally destroy the current education establishment & go back to pre-Dewey education. And books like Howard Zinn’s should never be permitted within the walls of any institution that calls itself a school, college or university!
Aw sh*t!
Yes, wasn’t Zinn awful?
They live in America...if they don't like it...return to Africa. We will pay you to do such.
I am hoping the earnings are somewhat comparable to 2016, as we need this genre to thrive and they key to sustainability is profit.
I thought the color saturation was a little high and I wish he would have expanded on the segment regarding Saul Alinsky —the role of this venal insect was so far-reaching for American “progressivism” that Alinsky could merit his own film, really.
I think his phased release strategy and his marketing to church congregations is effective —I saw the movie on the first showing of the first day in my area (which was one day prior to the official release date) but for the first time in 15 years my FreeperShip was suspended and so I could not write the timely film review that this film merited, really terrible luck...
I thought Dinesh handled the felony question perfectly —head-on and direct, no “but I didn’t inhale” shenanigans, which is actually counter-productive.
I did prefer the first film but I think if you are a Conservative but neglect to see this film with all your friends then you are freaking crazy.
And no one ever calls him out for being a ‘former’ communist. He’s deliberately impugning this country to destroy it. He should be charged with treason & hung.
Well done documentary. However, it is just going to preach to the choir. The left can never be swayed by facts and patriotism. Still, it offers hope.
I’m going to see it with my brother on Tuesday.
“”Had me in tears in several spots””
Plan on seeing it tomorrow - early movie. I remember when leaving the theater after seeing his last movie, all of the women were crying walking out of the theater. We weren’t able to speak about it even tho’ we walked to the parking area together.
I saw it in Framingham (Metro West) yesterday, and there were about 12 people in the theater at the 8:10 show, which is actually pretty good for a Thursday.
Here's my review thread from earlier today: My Brief Review of Dinesh D'Souza's "America"
Going tomorrow.......will let you know.
