The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), a federal agency tasked with enforcing workplace discrimination laws, is suing a private American business for firing a group of Hispanic and Asian employees over their inability to speak English at work, claiming that the English-language requirement in a U.S. business constitutes discrimination.
Judicial Watch reported Tuesday that the government is accusing Wisconsin Plastics, Inc. of violating Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits discrimination based on national origin. The government argues this includes the linguistic characteristics of a national origin group.
Irene Garcia, the blog editor and Spanish media liaison for Judicial Watch, called the EEOCs accusation ludicrous.

What is, ‘paid’?
This is, quite simply, beyond belief.
Hey! Here’s a idea. Let’s flood the country with more of these non-English speaking maggots. Lawsuits for everybody! We’ll all get rich! Asking an ***hole to speak the common language IS NOT “discrimination”. Anyone who thinks it is, is doing way too many “recreational” drugs and might want to lighten up on them. Especially those perverts in the black robes.
FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponents Argument
As mentioned in related threads, please consider the following. With the exception of the federal entities indicated in the Constitution's Clauses 16 & 17 of Section 8 of Article I as examples, entities under the exclusive legislative control of Congress, the states have never delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to regulate any aspect of intrastate labor. So if the EEOC (also the NLRB and the EPA) wants to continue to exist then it needs to do the following.
The EEOC needs to encourage Congress to propose a workplace equality rights amendment to the Constitution to the states for ratification. The EEOC also needs Congress to propose an amendment to the Constitution to the states which would repeal the Constitution's Section 1 so that Congress can delegate legislative / regulatory powers to non-elected bureaucrats like those running the EEOC.
And if the states choose to ratify these amendments then Congress will have the speciific power to make laws to protect workplace equality rights which it can then delegate to the EEOC, and the EEOC will be a hero.
As a side note concerning the unconstitutionally big federal government, please consider this. What a dull, boring place the states would be to grow up in if parents were to make sure that their children were taught about the federal government's constitutionally limited powers the way that the Founding States had intended for those powers to be understood.
Only if you are a conservative. Laws need not apply to liberals
I've moved to Panama, and consider it an OBLIGATION to learn to speak Spanish. Sadly, my Spanish is still pretty bad, but I can communicate fairly easily.
Indeed. Whoever hired them should be fired, too. No way the interview was conducted in English.
They aren't being terminated because they speak Spanish or Laotian or Tagalog or Cantonese. They are being terminated because they DON'T speak English. Title VII does not apply here.
#ing 5th column bureaucrats.
Country is going to dogs,,,,no offense to dogs who are man’s best friend.
Hell in a hand basket.
You can’t make this stuff up!
This is outrageous and is a first step toward the US becoming not a bilingual country but a polyglot country. The time is long past due for legislation making English the official language of the United States. A lot of people think it is, but it isn’t. A bill to make it so in CA was defeated long ago. I’m sure an English-as-our-official-language bill would be defeated in the senate, if not the house. The Obamanation would probably not sign it anyway,
Balkanization of America by the Traitorobama regime.
That was my question too. How did these people get hired if they can’t speak English enough to do the job?
I am still angry we have to press 1 for English when making calls to businesses.
Anyone can learn English so no discrimination
“This is outrageous and is a first step toward the US becoming not a bilingual country but a polyglot country.”
I think it much more likely that the US is becoming a Spanish-speaking country; they are a large majority of the under-20 demographic.
“There are a lot of companies that will not hire you unless you speak Spanish.”
In my area, most retail jobs will require Spanish. Most of the customers are Hispanic, and Anglos can’t find work in banks, stores, etc.
I assume the company is white owned. So the discrimination is against them and America. This administration has such a low IQ. They’ll lose in court of course,.but how much will the business lose paying attorneys. I’m so glad Americans will win and the bush/Obama scam/hate will lose. Nwo,u stink out loud and u will lose. God is laughing at these bums.
Of course it is, and that is exactly why the rats will do it. You can count on the government to do the wrong thing every single time.
