Cochran Campaign Manager Busted in Illegal Vote Buying Operation

A black reverend stiffed by the Cochran campaign has exposed an alleged criminal conspiracy by Cochran staffers to commit massive voter fraud ahead of Tuesday's controversial U.S. Senate Republican runoff election in Mississippi.

Reverend Stevie Fielder, associate pastor at historic First Union Missionary Baptist Church and former official at Meridian's redevelopment agency, says he delivered "hundreds or even thousands," of blacks to the polls after being offer money and being assured by a Cochran campaign operative that Chris McDaniel was a racist. "They [the Cochran campaign] told me to offer blacks fifteen dollars each and to vote for Thad."

It is illegal under several provisions of Mississippi law and federal law for campaign officials to bribe voters with cash and punishable up to five years in jail. (MS Code 97-13-1; MS Code 97-13-3 (2013) (Federal Code 18 U.S.C. 597, U.S.C. 1973i(c)) Voter fraud schemes are not unusual for Mississippi. In 1999 Mississippi's attorney general reported massive voter fraud allegations throughout the Palmetto state. In 2011, a Mississippi NAACP leader was sent to prison for voter fraud, according to the Daily Caller.

It would seem that laws were broken here, too. At the direction of the Cochran campaign, Reverend Fielder went "door to door, different places, mostly impoverished neighborhoods, to the housing authorities and stuff like that," telling fellow blacks that McDaniel was a racist and promising them $15 per vote. "They sold me on the fact that he was a racist and that the right thing to do was to keep him out of office," Fielder says.

Text messages released to Got News and a recorded interview with Reverend Fielder confirmed that Saleem Baird, a staffer with the Cochran campaign and current legislative aide to U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, and Cochran campaign manager, Kirk Sims, were involved in a $15 per vote cash bribery scheme to target members of the black community.

"They said they needed black votes," said the Reverend Fielder on the phone. He says Baird told him to put "give the fifteen dollars in each envelope to people as they go in and vote. You know, not right outside of the polling place but he would actually recruit people with the $15 dollars and they would go in and vote." Fielder said he received thousands of dollars in envelopes from Baird and distributed them accordingly. Fielder also says he went to the campaign office on another occasion to pick up $300 in cash and was among a room full of people who were doing the same thing he was.

What kind of person would take a measly $15 for their vote?

They were not going to vote in the Republican runoff or for the Republican in the general. So this was an extra vote for them. Pocket $15 for a half an hour of work.

And remember, certain scumbags on FR were actually encouraging people to vote for Cochran. NO CHANCE IN HELL!

The man belongs in prison. His intern can visit him there

Indeed.

I got out to dinner and come home thinking I have more SCOTUS articles to slog through and when I open my browser ... WHAM! This is jaw-dropping. I was dumbfounded the other day by the accusations from the Hinds County Democrat officials. Now, I am gobsmacked. I had to find a Brit word because regular ol’ American English doesn’t suffice.

This in Phoenix for voter registration. Pizza but only if you registered and ONLY if you WERE HISPANIC. The only “whites” allowed in was the Terry Goddard campaign staff.

“....As stated above, it is unknown whether any laws were violated. However, when an event that is advertised as a “public event” turns into a Democrat voting event for Hispanics only, then is attended by Democrat politicians—one of them being the highest law enforcement officer in the state—there is something drastically wrong. If it is not illegal, it is surely a sign that the Democrats have manipulated the voting process to the point that the sanctity of the process is now suspect.

*Eyewitnesses to the event wish to remain anonymous due to a fear of retaliation as Arizona’s highest law enforcement official, Attorney General Terry Goddard was at the event to campaign for governor....”

Property owned by long time Dem pain in the arse Mary Rose Wilcox and husband Earl (where the pizza for hispanic registration took place) Pics at link and the local RAG as usual, did no reporting on the “no whites” event.

We covered the Murkowski vote-theft heavily, but nobody cared about bought-off Eskimos in 2010. The RNSC - Cornyn - was able to rinse that all away.

The article referred to Mississippi as the Palmetto State which is incorrect. It is the Magnolia State.

Imagine that each vote bought is a state felony and let's say we are dealing with a modest 2000 votes bought. Each vote is actually multiple felonies, not only the vote purchase but also at least one count of conspiracy per vote. The Rev. Mr. Fielder comes forward voluntarily and gets immunity from prosecution. That works to prohibit his prosecution at the federal level as well, I believe. It is reasonable to give him immunity because he can testify so as to convict EVERYBODY else.

Soon we find out whether the Mississippi chain gang has an Alzheimer's wing to accommodate former Senator Cockroach, whether special diets dependent on pork are available to Haley Boss Hogg Barbour.

This is a verrrrry nice development.

It’s a figment of your imagination Elk. Because clearly the most Conservative GOP ever would never do such a thing ;)

"They sold me on the fact that he was a racist and that the right thing to do was to keep him out of office," Fielder says.

A pastor thinks the right thing to do is commit voter fraud? So why is he admitting this now?

That's what I'm wondering. Is he that stupid? Doesn't he realize he broke the law (if he did this)?

From the article, he was convinced McDaniels was a racist and thus he used an 'ends justify the means' rationale to break the law. The old 'greater good' play. Afterward, he learned he was duped as well as stiffed. Further, he had voted Republican before so there was likely feelings of guilt.

Besides, confession is good for the soul.

Yep, it's now on Breitbart and redstate and I imagine dozens of blogs.

This is a big story that has been developing over the weekend.

I something strange (very underhanded sleazy crooked fraudulent) isn't pulled off by the dems and dem wannabees (that would be the GOP-e) Cochran and Rove’s/Reid's/Boener’s boys are gonna be breaking up rocks.
They will throw some small time pol under the bus to do the time if it comes to that.

Immunity, and very nice meals/hotels for ratting on his fellow bribe engineers in MS... and maybe in contiguous states.

Plus, he didn’t get paid and is doing payback.

I thought he might be working for the Dems to take down Republicans, but he seems to implicate just about everyone. He’s admitting here on tape to multiple federal felonies for starters...
