The Iowa GOP central committee voted Saturday to fire the state party chairman and replace him with a fixture of the establishment. Danny Carroll, removed on a 14-2 no confidence vote, will be replaced by Jeff Kaufmann, formerly the Speaker Pro Tem of the state House.
The bloodless coup was widely expected after forces loyal to Gov. Terry Branstad officially seized control of the partys governing body from close allies of Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) at a state convention earlier this month. The former chairman, A.J. Spiker, stepped down this spring and became a senior adviser to RAND PAC. Carroll is a former lobbyist for the evangelical Family Leader and supported Branstads primary challenger in 2010. Chad Olsen, who stepped down as the partys executive director in May 2012 after Pauls forces took control, will get his old job back. Cody Hoefert, from conservative northwest Iowa, replaces the co-chair, who resigned before the meeting.

So, by your own admission, you do not belong in politics.
My advice is perfect for those who want to win.
You do not care about victory, you see this as some way to be an exhibitionist of your “perfect” soul.
So you are the one who should take up knitting or gardening. Politics does not suit you.
Norm is right.
There are 2 choices here. Conservative try to displace the establishment shills who might as well be Democrats or we leave this “big tent” that hates us so much.
I know when I look at Mitt’s record, thats the first thing I think of. As someone ‘conservative’ told me the other day here, Abortion is a lesser evil.
Lesser, as you know is less than Greater. Thus Mitt is conservative.
Mitt was pro gun control. He attempted to conserve liberal power in Mass.
To conserve, as you know, is the foundation of Conservatism.
Mitt Hired illegals through his contractors, got caught and did it again. Reagan signed an actual amnesty.
A handful of illegals is less than an Amnesty, thus Mitt is more conservative than Reagan.
Together, I think it is safe to say that Mitt was perhaps the most severe of all conservatives.

It would be funny of one of the idiots on this thread didn’t believe damn near that! The thing is, he seems to.
I’ll repost this, it’s late and I’m getting lazier...
Republicans and Democrats worked together in a bipartisan and diverse fashion to slander and steal an election from their common enemy, a conservative.
Now we have people coming to this forum and telling us to get over it and vote for the Rs because they are better than the Ds.
We need to win the Senate... they claim
I am still not sure how conservatives are part of the we in that last statement.
What FR has is a number of political operatives sent here to disrupt, prevent us from getting on the same page and generally spreading the GOP version of ‘conservative’ defined as ‘center left’ with intent to ease us ever leftward from there.
They mirror exactly the open lefts attempts at redefining the long held meanings of words just as Orwell fictionalized. Except today, it is reality not fiction. And their posts prove it.
You supported John McCain. You supported Mitt Baby-Killer and Gun Grabber Romney. You have undoubtedly supported a myriad of other losers of the same stripe. After all, they were a microscopic sliver better than their Demonrat opponents.
The actual base of the Republican Party consists of pro-lifers, moral conservatives, constitutionalists, 2nd Amendment RTKBA militants, people who want the borders closed and the illegals deported, supporters of our military in their armaments, their missions and their care as veterans, opponents of Patriot Act invasion of Americans' privacy, opponents of global-climate change fairy tales, opponents of acceptance of perverts posing as "married," people who understand von Mises and von Hayek, people who admire so much of Ayn Rand as related to traditional freedoms but not her amorality, people who understand that Gerald Ford and Bush the Elder were profound embarrassments to the party, and people as likely as not of ordinary means. Needed is early unity behind ONE candidate who is credibly committed on most of those issues and particularly life, morals, guns, borders and others of the above issues, a candidate therefore with a conservative vision and capable of articulating it to the public and a candidate who understands ground war and understands and agrees with grassroots conservatives.
Fact: The base of the GOP, as so defined, has been increasingly voting third party, write-in or abstaining. Your $$$$ buddies on Wall Street and K Street can use megabucks focused on one disgraceful excuse for a candidate after another every 4 years in POTUS races and in many governorships, senate seats and house seats. Fine, but the dollars don't vote. People do if they choose to. The "GOP base" will continue to wither and the party elite will either surrender to the base or the base will form a new party. Want our votes? Earn them the old-fashioned way by nominating candidates worth voting for.
$$$$ is only useful in air wars (wall-to-wall TV and radio advertising campaigns which keep our lamestream media enemies alive) and is especially useful when many conservatives are looking for the perfect designer candidate who is correct on everything and particularly their pet causes.
Using my current state of residence, Illinois, let's see how this worked last POTUS election. There was no primary opposition to Obozo (allegedly native son of the Chicago Machine), no governor's or other statewide officer's race, no US Senate race. This happens in most POTUS election years although US Senate races are sometimes being run. Illinois, like MISSISSIPPI and SOUTH CAROLINA and, I believe, TENNESSEE (to name three other states in question this year, allows anyone at all to vote in the GOP primary. This means an army of Demonrats marshaled by the Rahmfather Emmanuel's Chicago Machine can and do meddle in the GOP primary and often determine the outcomes. Kinda like the victory of Thad Cockroach in MISSISSIPPI, huh?
Romney, child of privilege, tapped the unlimited resources of Wall Street and K Street and the Chambers of Crony Commerce, and bombs every media outlet in the state of Illinois for about three weeks just before the primary with the alleged virtues of WonderMitt, the Superman (ubermensch???) of moderation. The only visible remaining opponent by then was Rick Santorum, social conservative, and definitely NOT a love slave of the monied interests. The state party supported Romney and is run as the GOP wing of the Chicago Machine. Doesn't matter because NO ONE pays attention to the stooges who, by arcane and veer unfair rules have guaranteed that Muffie and Skipper's grandchildren and their grandchildren will always lead the Illinois GOP in its ongoing surrender to all things Demonratic.
Santorum actually campaigned around the state unlike Mittens (who probably appeared only before the Union League Club in Chicago, which is, after all, where the $$$$ is) but was drowned out by money. OK, that's the furniture in the room. Conservatives cannot turn the $$$$ meisters into morally conservative patriots instead of obsessed greedheads. That's a given. Conservatives must turn to ground war. The GOP will NOT, for the most part, help. It is the first obstacle. Conservatives should (without wasting too much time or energy on the party) take over as many of the incredible number of vacancies in Precinct Committee positions and do it quietly, network from County to County, name delegates and smash state party "leaders." Meanwhile, they should determine to defeat Mark Nancy Boy Kirk, either at the primary or send him to defeat in the general election. He is an asset to the $$$$ crowd, an absolute embarrassment to actual Republicans, and he needs to GO.
Conservatives very much need to develop the absolute attitude that accepting campaign $$$$ from K Street and/or Wall Street, from Karl Rove (see today's major article in Politico), American Crossroads, the misnamed Main Street Coalition and their ilk is as disqualifying an event as would be a video showing the candidate sexually molesting a child. Conservatives need to flee such candidates as the moral lepers that they are.
When conservatives have destroyed the $$$$ fraternity that owns the GOP most of the time, there will be plenty of opportunity to destroy the Demonrats who will, by then, have welcomed the former GOP $$$$ boys. The GOP may or may not survive. That does not matter. There will always be some major opposition party and its name matters not.
The Federalists died not long after Washington died. Hamilton was shot in the head and killed in a duel with Aaron Burr (Jonathan Edwards' grandson and a founder of Tammany Hall). Next, the money interests organized the Whig Party around folks like Henry Clay, a tax money spender extraordinaire, who was so appreciated by that era's $$$$ crowd. The slavery issue divided and killed the Whigs. Former Whig Lincoln won with 39% of the vote in a four-way race and promptly plunged the US into the Second War for Independence. Hundreds of thousands died, the slaves were freed, billions were borrowed, the currency was debased, and the cash was sent to the $$$$ crowd of that day.
Ever since, the GOP has been the $$$$ party and merely tolerates other causes as necessary to the $$$$ interest. This nation needs a Jeffersonian and Jacksonian Party. The Demonrats have rejected their noble heritage to satisfy their bankers and others who were their traditional enemies. What have the Demonrats done about ruinous trade agreements which have destroyed private sector labor? The GOP wants to do nothing. Both parties tell the American people to go to hell while they carve up the loot between them.
The GOP can change its ways, purge the $$$$ nuisance, and address this situation or it can die like the Federalists and Whigs before us. If so, it will deserve to die and that will stop the phony Kabuki dance in which John (Hic) Coppertone Boehner and Mitchie McTurtle play act in public as though they are an actual opposition party.
Raise less corn and more hell! Right then! Right now! Right forever!
Stop contradicting yourself. If I ignore the opinions of other to avoid the temptations of the genuine evil of "human respect" and I do, then I can hardly be irritated by your being nice or anything else toward me. How you feel and act is how you feel and act. God gave you free will. Use it as you see fit and be accountable for its use.
Your advice is perfect for inanimate weather vanes. Taking a poll and conforming your attitudes to public opinion and then running to the front of the parade blasting your tuba accordingly may be many things but leadership is not one of them. We have more than enough feather-brained unprincipled opportunists in politics and we ought not to be encouraging more of them.
I care very much about victory but it has to be a real victory and preferably a total victory. If the GOP Ruling Class gives me Mitt Romney as a candidate, my answer is no. I voted for Eternal Vigilance (whom I used to argue with here when I was still in a stupefied GOP is better than Donkey state of mind). I told myself I was voting for Sarah Palin. There was no rationalization known to man or beast that could justify a vote for Romney, or Nancy Boy Kirk, or my whore Congresscritter (creature of Eric Cantor) Adam Kinzinger. Or the Congressthing next door, Paul Ryan. I freed myself and got the elephant off my back.
You will repulse nearly every effective political activist out there.
You are too full of insults and too full of yourself.
Yes, I would love to have a perfect candidate as you describe.
Such candidates do not exist in the real world. They just don’t.
And why are you involved in politics at all, since you do not care what other people think? The job of politicians is to negotiate policy. Nobody can work with you, so you do not belong.
I am sure you get that feeling often.
Yes, we need someone who can get us some occasional bacon on the fast train to communism. /s
Bravo!
The reason that conservatives lack perfect candidates is because there are so many stumbling blocks in the way (generally clogging the arteries of the sorry-assed remains of the Republican party). It is like walking out of the WTC on 9/12/01.
Wall Street, K Street and people like you posing as conservatives but spreading a "gospel" of defeatism and despair and minimalist ambitions (if they can be called ambitions at all). You want to hang out in the dark corners where Obozo might not notice you scurrying in the shadows for an overlooked scrap of cheese from the table of the spoiled trust funders, but above all obey your perceived need to be at the very most a pale facsimile of a sunshine soldier ready to defect at the first difficulty and terrified to be confused with those determined to actually fight for something worth having.
This Republic, like all human institutions, will someday fail, now or in 2016 or many years from now. It may fall to Obozo or to the Arkansas Medusa (there I go again alienating your potential "friends"). It may fall to sinister forces yet unimagined but fall it will. When it falls, will you be found crawling on your knees begging to surrender or will you be willing to risk being Nathan Hale? I guarantee you that the GOP will fall first. What will you tell your grandchildren in the Gulag you found more important than freedom as Ronaldus Maximus used to ask?
Each human being was destined for earthly death at the moment of conception. There are, however, many ways to die. The important thing is what happens next after death and therefore all the things that led up to that death.
Playing Let's Make a Deal by offering up without a whimper the lives (not yours to give) of 97% of the aborted to ban the deaths of the other 3% (who will likely be aborted a trimester earlier) is not a hill to die on. Each of the 3% is also a beloved individual child of God lovingly created by Him and abandoned in utero by the "adults" for generally selfish but homicidal reasons. Banning third trimester abortions may look good on your resume as you pat yourself on the back but the reality is that you will merely speed up the killing to an earlier trimester as is the custom in Europe whose moral spinelessness you apparently admire and seek to emulate.
When you "negotiate policy," you facilitate being governed by useless trash like Gerald Ford, Bush the Elder, Bill Graves, Nancy Landon Kassebaum, Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins, Thad Cockroach, Lamar!!! Alexander, Bob Corker, Howard Baker, UpChuck Percy, Nancyboy Kirk, Charles Mathias, Lowell Weicker and the like and that's just among the "Republicans." When actual Republicans are set aside by moral cowards in favor of your cherished "moderates," the result is governance by the likes of Kathleen the Death Queen Sebelius, Obozo, anything named Clinton, UpChuck Schumer, Elizabeth Fauxcahontas Warren, Rosa DeLauro, Richard Blumenthal, Chris Murphy, etc.
Voting for a political disease like Mitt Romney over Obozo (and putting in your thumb and calling it a plum and saying "what a fine boy am I") at the cost of the tattered remains of the party that once rejected Saul Alinsky (and Nelson Rockefeller and William Scranton and George Romney and their ilk) to thereby seal the fate of the Republic is NOT conservatism.
Your existence here is one long fearful plea for Let's Make a Deal. The answer is no. Not a New Deal. Not a Fair Deal. Not any deal whatsoever. You are on the other side without the sense to know it or the honor to admit it.
OOOOOOOOH! That Elk is just SOOOOOO judgmental! Muffie and Skipper will never forgive him.
Very nice!
God bless you and yours!
You do not care about victory.
You simply don’t.
You care about stroking your own ego and feeling superior to everyone else.
You and your kind have blood on your hands. We would be MUCH further along in the prolife cause if not for the idiot “no compromise no exceptions” sinful pride of your faction.
I personally called Judy Brown and Nellie Grey when the opposed the Parental Consent legislation proposed in Kansas. BOTH had previously supported such legislation in other States. However the A.L.L. affiliate in Kansas wanted the national groups to fight the NRLC affiliate (Which gratefully calls all the shots in this state, now, on abortion issues!) The sinful pride of the idiot “no compromise” crowd caused the death of thousands.
Years later, Parental Consent as well as late term abortion bans were passed in Kansas.
You “no compromise” idiots were marginalized.
Partly because we published pictures, mercilessly, of Right to Life of Kansas, the ALL affiliate, sitting next to abortionist George Tiller, in OPPOSITION to prolife legislation!
Get lost you petty, vindictive, prideful nut.
You are harming the cause and I detest prideful bullies.
Replacing a D with an R is not a victory. Dismantling the leftism in this government is a victory. We won’t see that with McConnell and Cochran calling the shots.
Well, until you have a plethora of things represented on the ballot all of which are bad in some manner.
Whatever best makes a way for the Lord to bless would be my theory. Which would be why even a certain Mormon, with all his baggage both theological and historical, would probably have been a superior choice to a certain God Damn America “Christian.” Without naming names.
I care very much about victory just not YOUR IDEA of victory.
Banning third trimester abortions may make you and NRLC feel good about yourselves since you get so very little done at all. All it means is that the babies' deaths are hurried to the second trimester. Killer (and now killed) Tiller wanted third trimester abortions to continue as a lucrative part of his business at Wichita. He was one of about four competent abortionists in the nation engaged regularly in the very rare third trimester abortion trade (other than Butcher Gosnell in Philthadelphia). Any last minute third trimester abortion decisions can be accommodated by the likes of Warren Hearn in Colorado or a few others outside of Kansas. In fact, if I understand correctly, Tiller's mill is open again. Nicht wahr?
Yeah, Black Elk and Judy Brown and Nellie Gray have blood on our/their hands. Must be great stuff you smoke. I'll gladly keep company with Judy and the late and great Nellie while you get the NRLC dregs, compromisers and Common Ground with Planned Barrenhood types.
Parental Consent may have its uses but remember that little underage Susie is as likely as not being dragged to the abortion mill by the ear by Mumsie and/or Daddy. Family reputation and all that!
If NRLC's affiliate "calls the shots" in Kansas now, no baby in utero is safe as your compromises and exceptions become the blob that devoured Kansas.
What did you ever accomplish as to prideful bullies like Kathleen Sebelius, Bill Graves and Nancy Landon Kassebaum as they ran roughshod over the corpses of the babies killed by Tiller and his colleagues. What did you DO about Tiller? Write a letter to the editor? have yakfests with friends about how awful he was and how much you missed him after he was gone? Slander or libel the admittedly imperfect Judge Patrick Kelly who may have been a better fellow than the milquetoast pro-lifers who had such middle class fussiness about Operation Rescue? Fat lot of comfort that would be for all the babies killed in Kansas as you worried about avoiding close contact with Operation Rescue and those who stopped the killing on various days with the result that 1/3 of babies scheduled to die on those days would survive to be born (Alan Guttmacher Institute/Planned Barrenhood admission).
Remember the opening scene of the first Godfather movie when the Buonaserra the undertaker asks Don Vito Corleone to punish the boys who had disfigured his daughter for resisting their sexual advances and had their charges dismissed and laughed at the undertaker as they left court in triumph?
Don Vito reminded the undertaker that the law had been good to the undertaker and that the undertaker had no need of Don Vito's friendship as his funeral parlor flourished. But, NOW, the law had disappointed the undertaker and he was asking for that long neglected (despised?) friendship.
Don Vito was offering friendship again only because it was his daughter's wedding day. He reminded Buonaserra the undertaker of the future obligations, social and professional, of such friendship and then ordered the boys to be beaten within an inch of their lives which was justice since Buonaserra's daughter still lived. "After all, whatever they may say, we are not murderers!" unlike the abortion compromisers who trade the lives of innocent others so they can feel good about themselves.
Let's Make a Deal! Let's Make a Deal! Let's Make a Deal!
I'm not going anywhere. This is an action website for conservatives and not a rest home for the compromised.
Remember Thad Cockroach! Remember MISSISSIPPI! How's your boy Pat Roberts doing?
