One of my favorite Oscar-winning actors might have just destroyed his career in Hollywood.
Gary Oldman did what is verboten amidst the Hollywood lovelies; namely, crap on liberal politicians, condemn political correctness and laud libertarian and conservative thought.
In an interview with Playboy, Oldman wields a sledgehammer on the fetid idols that have kept most of the actors that work in Tinseltown at bay.
Check it out.
Regarding political correctness, Oldman said
I just think political correctness is crap. Thats what I think about it. I think its like, take a f***ing joke. Get over it. I dont know about Mel. He got drunk and said a few things, but weve all said those things. Were all f***ing hypocrites. Thats what I think about it.
Regarding Nancy Pelosi, Oldman said
Well, if I called Nancy Pelosi a c**tand Ill go one better, a f***ing useless c**tI cant really say that. But Bill Maher and Jon Stewart can, and nobodys going to stop them from working because of it.
Regarding racism, Oldman said
Its our culture now, absolutely. At the Oscars, if you didnt vote for 12 Years a Slave, you were a racist. You have to be very careful about what you say. I do have particular views and opinions that most of this town doesnt share, but its not like Im a fascist or a racist. Theres nothing like that in my history.
Regarding FOX News Charles Krauthammer, Oldman said
There are a number of people. A voice I particularly like is Charles Krauthammer. I think hes incredibly smart. I think hes fair, very savvy and politically insightful, so I enjoy watching him.
Regarding a potential Hillary Clinton presidency, Oldman said
What can I say? I feel we need some real leadership, and its nowhere in sight. Look at whats happening right now. John Kerry going off to China to talk about North Korea? Whats that going to do? The ludicrousness of it. What a waste of money. Youre going to go to the puppeteer and say, Can you help me with the puppet? As far as Hillary, I guess I feel like my character in The Contender, Shelly Runyon. He doesnt want Joan Allen to become president; he just believes she isnt the right person for the job. Its nothing to do with the fact that shes a woman, but he uses a bit of dirt on her to bring her down.
Oldman might have screwed the pooch as far as his Hollywood buddies go, but as far as God and country loving patriots that are pig sick of the triple standards of political correctness are concerned, I think we mightve just found a new hero.
Rock-N-Roll, Gary. Dont let the bastards grind you down.
And my response was that some Jews (not all Jews, or even most Jews, or even a major percentage) also engage in ethnic comments. Are you saying that no Jew anywhere has ever told a Polish joke? Has ever talked about "that shiksa" her nice Jewish son is dating? Etc, etc.
I think the tendency of "knockout" perps is to pick easy victims. Orthodox Jews are not generally seen as being Kung-fu masters (or even adept at Krav maga). Perhaps that should change. I would think that NYC Orthodox Jews would benefit from going to Israel and spending a couple of years in the Israeli Army when they turn 18. Maybe ask some Israeli commandos to come over and conduct martial arts and weapons training classes for some young Orthodox boys and girls.
Having a TV segment on that would do more to reduce "knock out" attacks than any number of "interfaith" events.
Btw... yiddish is not derogatory whether calling a black man a scwvartzer or a white man a visser. If the first yiddish word is so derogatory, then so is the second; however, no one says that this is.
I took the Russian defense called Sambo (not the cartoon). That was really neat. Maybe Krav Maga is even better. You know that Jennifer Lopez used krav maga in her politicaly correct, whit man bashing film, "Enough," don't you?
