House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa says he's willing to consider immunity for former IRS official Lois Lerner, but he wants to know what she plans to say first.
"If she were willing to proffer through her attorney that she would tell us something meaningful, disclose how these crimes were committed, how they sought to and who sought to go after conservative groups because of their values, then we could, and I would have a vote to grant her immunity," Issa said Tuesday on Fox News Channel's "The O'Reilly Factor."
But Issa said that South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy, a former federal prosecutor, has warned him never to grant immunity without a proffer of what the witness will say.

...ha... maybe HE can be PRESIDENT !!
Immunity should never be granted to a prime actor in a crime.
From wiki: ...”Director Exempt Organizations. In this capacity, Lerner led an organization of 900 employees responsible for a broad range of compliance activities, including examining the operational and financial activities of exempt organizations, processing applications for tax exemption, providing direction through private letter rulings and technical guidance and providing customer education and outreach to the exempt community.”
She was the queen bee in this criminal enterprise, all the orders and direction came from her. That’s the crime and she should do the time. After trial and conviction and sentencing is when she is most vulnerable to revealing collusion with higher ups. But conspiracy is diffucult to prosecute.
The aim is to make an example of her to those that followed her orders.
Issa and Gowdy should be snagging her assistants, secretaries, etc to discover her calendars, telephone logs, multiple cell phone and email accounts, all of which provide hard evidence building blocks.
They need to STOP letting them call all the shots!
He can give her judicial immunity. He can’t protect her from Chicagocide though.
You beat me too it!
That may be why she would rather go to jail. She would be pardoned.
Definitely - need to have names and verifiable proof of guilt, then give her immunity.
Gretchin has a guest who says the emails are stored its just a matter of finding them
Hacking - security CEO Vinny says in 2010 audit sent notices what needed to fix. In 2011 says they are fixed. Stored off site. TIGDA has the information. (3 rd party independent auditors.) Subpoena the AG office. Go to it and pull from the archive
I’m starting to wonder if the GOP might already have the emails and needs her to help strengthen the case.
I would offer her a deal... testify and we’ll knock 2 years off your 700 year sentence.
...perhaps her vibrator.
As long as prosecution is at the discretion of Eric Holder, any offer of immunity to anyone involved is an empty enticement.
give her immunity and she will still lie to our faces
See 88. He said it was fairly simple once you located the company that held them. Since the house pays the bills would they have access to who got paid?

Gowdy: “Did she ever use her personal computer?”
O’Connor: “I don’t know.”
Gowdy: “She did.”
Laughed out loud! “She did!” What else does he know? Can’t wait to find out!
On the other hand, she is a true believer. There is no reason to believe that she would be truthful if she did testify.
They had better have Lerner boxed in on some serious charges involving serious jail-time. She needs to make proffer as to what things she might say. Absent that she might not sing the song that we expect.
I assume any sentence she would receive would be negated by a POTUS pardon from the regime.
True that. I fully expect Barak Obama will make promiscuous use of his pardon powers when his administration reaches midnight. It will raise eyebrows and damage his reputation. Similar thing happened with BJ Clinton.
