‘The man who damns money has obtained it dishonorably; the man who respects it has earned it.’ — Ayn Rand
Not to mention that she has a face for radio.
Crime pays.
The first generation makes it and the second generation doesn’t care.
“It is a kind of spiritual snobbery that makes people think they can be happy without money.” Albert Camus
So, she’s NOT attached to money, just the stuff you can buy with it.
schnorrer - Yiddish for “beggar” or “sponger”, I had to look it up................Now I know a new word.
Let’s put a positive spin on this. Maybe Chelsea is saying she doesn’t care about MORE money, because she has enough to not worry about it.
That’s the best I can do... she’s spoiled, privileged, tone deaf, and oblivious, but not greedy. /S
“One cannot serve God and mammon.”
There is difference between not caring for dollars and not caring for the bling that dollars can buy.
If my parents and in-laws each had $100 million or more of untraceable ill-gotten wealth stashed away here and there around the word I would’t be concerned too much about money either.
I would take Chelsea’s claim of not caring about money far more seriously if she was living in a commune in upstate New York selling hand woven hemp shirts rather than in a $10 million condo in Manhattan.
Why are starving people always concerned about food? Don’t they realize there’s more to life than just eating? And why are working people so concerned about money? Why not just marry a rich guy and use your parents’ connections to get cushy jobs?
To the extent that she disparages cash and banks a fortune, she exemplifies the sort of political phony baloney and prevarication so typical of her parents.
There’s definitely a future for her in politics.
I feel for the destitute
I emailed NBC and told them I would take Chelsea’s former job. I offered to do it for a mere $400,000 a year though. After all, I’m not greedy.
