Russia seems to be embracing fascism, an odd direction for a nation that was once the bastion of Marxism.

The whole world seems to be moving to fascism these days from the US to Venezuela, the EUSSR and Russia

Russia seems to be embracing fascism, an odd direction for a nation that was once the bastion of Marxism. I do not think so. The communists own the means of production and the fascists do not own, but simply control the means of production. In an ugly pragmatic world, fascism is more efficient than communism! Thus we have the "neo-communists" are communist who evolved to fascism or its evil step brother, crony capitalism.

Russia seems to be embracing fascism, an odd direction for a nation that was once the bastion of Marxism. Not so odd. Both fascism and communism hold that the individual is the property of the Group/State, that the job of the individual is to advance the goals of the Group, and that seeking one's own personal goals and happiness is wicked.
Substitute "God" for the Group, and you would have some theologians all in favor of the idea.

Not really. Fascism, National Socialism, and Communism, are all closely related. In Germany, the Communists and Nazis were fighting for the same time of people to join, and often members would switch from one party to the other, rather easily.

Fascism is a form of Marxism. Except it is a little wiser, using the clergy and corporation for its own ends. Both on the extreme left of the political continuum.

.... and Obama is current on their change in philosophy. That is why Obama promised putin more flexibility.
With this, I fully expect a nuclear Iran in the near term.
This shifts all responsibility for western man onto Israel.

Not really, fascism is just a slightly less oppressive form of socialism than communism, their differences are only skin deep.

It's similar to Milosevic's embrace of ultra-nationalism after having been a communist. Putin needs a rationale for his own claim to power. He thinks he's found it in these crackpot theories.

Not odd, since Fascism and Communism are merely two sides of the same coin.
