You can forget about unleashing data recovery experts on the hard drive containing Lois Lerner’s emails – that hard drive has been destroyed. Richard Bade reports in Politico:
“We’ve been informed that the hard drive has been thrown away,” Sen. Orrin Hatch of Utah, the top Republican on the Finance Committee, said in a brief hallway interview.
Two additional sources told POLITICO the same late Wednesday, citing IRS officials.
Odd, isn’t it, that nobody mentioned this before. Supposedly, recycling is standard procedure for damaged hard drives, and we all know how important recycling is to Saving the Planet. Just try using that excuse, that you recycled your receipts, when the IRS audits you.
Meanwhile, the White House is claiming that they have no records of any suspicious emails from Lerner to people there. The AP reports:

Emails are not stored on a user’s local machine. Even if you use POP to get your mail, the server retains a copy in a stub or scratch file SOMEWHERE. MS Exchange, Lotus Notes, even IMAP servers are configured on multiple nodes which are configured on hardware disk arrays with fail safes which are also backed up to other hard drives, tapes, to the “cloud,” and most major corporations, including the government, have offsite retention with companies like Iron Mountain.
This is literally one of the most misinformed, outright, bald-faced lies I’ve ever heard come out of this administration. ANYONE who knows IT to at least a small degree knows this is not true. Unless someone went around firing 40mm thermite grenades into every datacenter possibly connected to the IRS and ensured that every hard drive everywhere is destroyed, shattered, and melted into scrap, there are copies of these emails somewhere in some form that can be made readable if not already.
This is a bunch of BS, and it’s insulting to the intelligence of Americans who give a damn.
A coverup is easy if you’ve got the MSM protecting you.
Although there are numerous cases where they do lose our tax information we’ve submitted, then come back at you to produce it. When you can’t, because they lost it, you pay.
That’s the new rules for our government. You screw up, you pay. The government screws up, you pay. If you lie to the government you go to prison. The government can and does lie and lie and lie to you every day.
No matter what is found and if ANYONE ever goes to jail before odumbo is out of office, he will pardon ANYONE who was/is guilty. It is pretty obvious there are lots of guilty people including odumbo himself.
You shouldn’t, it’s the biggest part of the scam.
It was ruled by the Supreme Court in Anderson v. Dunn the Congress has the power to have someone arrested and imprisoned for Contempt of Congress. They can do this themselves. The DOJ has nothing to do with it. There even used to be a jail cell in the Capitol Building where those convicted served out their sentence.
Congress can send the House Sergeant at Arms to arrest Lerner and the rest of the IRS goons that 'lost' the email but they REFUSE to do their duty.
Bingo! It never should. However, they are now or have been chasing down ALL the data/evidence to destroy it. It just has to be in several places and in several backups. The IT people should be pressured right NOW to disclose what they know.
RE: It was ruled by the Supreme Court in Anderson v. Dunn the Congress has the power to have someone arrested and imprisoned for Contempt of Congress. They can do this themselves.
OK, so put Eric Holder in jail. He was held in contempt.
But he’s not. So, where’s the teeth in the ruling?
Certain members of Congress have been publicly vociferous in encouraging the IRS to investigate conservative political groups, so it is not as if we need Lois Lerner’s hard drive to “prove” something. The IRS is still intent on thwarting conservative groups. No mystery there. They, along with every single federal agency, have a vested interest in maintaining/growing power at the expense of taxpayers. If it requires a recycled hard drive along the way, then so be it.
For sure, and even the NSA, should have copies.
It will take a whistleblower with copies of the emails to get things started. Not an impossibility.
“Now, folks should swamp congressional phone lines to call for the abolition of the IRS all together.
This un-American agency should never ever again be allowed to strong arm another American citizen.”
Amen!!!! Lets get to the root of the problem, and abolish the IRS altogether, but lets also hold this administration accountable for impeachable crimes while we are at it!
Congress has the power but the GOP Leadership won't use it.
They may or may not be in cahoots with the Obama Regime but the results are just the same.
Her emails might have been CCed and BCCed to other employees at the IRS.
Add in Obama's wholesale rewriting of some laws and refusal to enforce others.
America may never recover.
If no one goes to prison for these crimes, America will not recover, for it means the people don't care enough to keep free government. It means we've joined the list of innumerable nations that rule through force and fear, and not the consent of the governed.
RE: Congress has the power but the GOP Leadership won’t use it.
Here’s another question, if you were held in contempt of Congress and they really DID use their powers to jail, does Senate have any say on it?
True, but if the arbiters of popular opinion, the mainstream media, were going after Obama, then trust me, the GOP would scrounge up some courage. Conversely, if they hadn’t had the support of the same media, I doubt the Dems, even back then, would have been so bold in challenging him.
The Republicans dislike the Tea Party as much as the Dems. With few exceptions, they don't really want those emails.
