The United States Patent and Trademark Office has canceled the Washington Redskins trademark registration, calling the football teams name disparaging to Native Americans.
The landmark case, which appeared before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, was filed on behalf of five Native Americans. It was the second time such a case was filed.

The thing I like about a consumption tax particularly one only at the end consumer level is that it ends all corporate taxation. It ends the non-profit issue and encourages production. It also lowers the real cost of labor. I see what you like about a flat tax and I like that as well. I just think a flat tax continues an invasive IRS. In the end, I’d take either over what we now have. Reform isn’t good enough. The agency is a tool of the Democratic Party and, scary enough for liberals, a tool of whoever is in power. The guns pointed at conservatism right now, but it can pivot around pretty fast.
Except that it isn't any type of function of capitalism. It is rather a crude attempt at the coercion of uniformity in the area of social values. It is cut from the same cloth as Bolshevik uniformity under the sociopathic regime of Lenin & Trotsky; or as slightly modified, while preserving the facade of private enterprise under Hitler & the Brownshirts in Nazi Germany.
The American Left is determined to intimidate any & all of us into accepting the pretense that people are interchangeable. Hence any notice of human differences calls for an ever more obsessive denial & ever more extreme sanctions.
To really appreciate the intellectual absurdity of this process, consider Footnote On Egalitarian Compulsion.
Among the rational, it should be obvious that what is insulting to American Indian tribes, is not someone recognizing their ethnicity, but the antics of Leftist crackpots, who believe that that recognition is insulting. People proud of their heritage are not insulted by references to it, even over trivial aspects; and honoring that trivial aspect (skin pigment) by making it the symbol of a hopefully competitive sports franchise, is hardly an insult among the rational.

We are being systematically conditioned to accept forced uniformity of thought on matters deemed critical to the future intended for us, by those who despise the individualistic, free society, achieved by the Founders of America. Treating the independent minded, who resist, with maximum insult is a calculated technique.

It’s all aside from the point. People have a constitutional right to use disparaging trademarks. A team ought to be allowed to call themselves Big Lipped Spear Chuckers, Drunken Micks or Greedy Jooos! if it wants, and leave it up to the fans if they want to pay for tickets to their games, and the media if they want to air them.
I don't think there will be any trouble airing Redskins' games at lest until the current NFL television contracts and the Redskins' local radio contracts and local TV and radio publicity show contracts expire.
But some leftist sportscasters are reportedly already talking about a "political correctness" plan not to mention the name "Redskins" when talking about the team. Even if they tried to do that, they would probably slip up from habit.
But redskins are my favorite potatoes.
Amen!
Being among the species journalistica, sportswriters are not the brightest bulbs on the planet.
But, eventually, one of them will figure they are all sounding like affected fools and, without further conversation, that will be the end of that.
