Iowa Republican Senate nominee Joni Ernst told a local news outlet she's "appalled" that her husband once called former U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano a "traitorous skank" on Facebook.
As reported by the Des Moines Register, Democrats took a screenshot of Gail Ernst's written comments, which had been up since April 2013, and seized on them. That prompted him to delete that and other inflammatory posts and apologize for them before Ernst denounced them.
"I'm appalled by my husband's remarks," Joni Ernst said, according to the Register

Looks like the Des Moines Register is going all in to help their favorite goon, Bruce Braley, and destroy Ernst quickly. However, will these attacks really sway anybody? Seems like a dumb line of attack to me, but maybe that’s because I think Mr. Ernst seems like a remarkably observant man.

Her husband needs to shut up, even though I agree. If your wife is a public servant, you can’t walk around insulting people in such a personal way. He may be one of those spouses with hidden jealousy who wants to sabotage her career climb.
If Mr. Ernst keeps this up, it is being done to damage his wife, for whatever reasons. I’ve met people like this before.

Statewide, Ernst is not well known.
Chuck Grassley, the current GOP senator, is an Iowa institution, and he could pull down about 65% of the vote.
Ernst won't get any where near that number.
This was a year ago and it was about Big Sis and the ammo shortage. That is good politics.
Chuck Grassley and Steve King have in nicer terms attacked the lawlessness of Napolitano.

Give me a break. You argument doesn't hold water. This has nothing to do with PC regs. This has to do with traditional manners. Did you see Reagan talk like this? Why do you think that was? You are trying to repackage 60's counterculture values as conservatism. Stop. Either be a conservative with traditional values, or keep your 60's counterculture values and stop pretending to be traditional.
