DENVER No doubt Democratic Gov. John Hickenlooper had hoped the uproar over the gun-control legislation he signed last year would have blown over by now, but hes since learned thats not the case. The governor set off a fresh round of outrage at a recent forum in Aspen with county sheriffs who sued over the legislation, first by apologizing for failing to meet with them during the debate, and then by insisting he never spoke to New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg about the bills.
Unfortunately for Hickenlooper, Complete Colorado ran a story after the Friday forum that included photos of phone logs obtained through an open-records request showing two incoming calls from Bloomberg on March 2, at the height of the legislatures gun-control battle.
In a Revealing Politics video, Hickenlooper responds to a question by Weld County Sheriff John Cooke by saying, Lets stick to the facts. I never talked to Mayor Bloomberg.
Thats not all. During the Aspen meeting, Montezuma County Sheriff Dennis Spruell posted a paragraph about Hickenloopers remarks on Facebook that has since gone viral.
The Colorado sheriffs are currently in a meeting with Colorado Governor Hickenlooper, the post said. The governor apologized to the sheriffs for not listening to them prior to passing the new gun bills. The governor admitted his office did not research the gun legislation until after it was passed. Governor Hickenlooper said he didnt realize it was going to cause such controversy and had he known he would not have endorsed the new gun laws without more research.

In other words, he wouldn't have signed it if he'd thought it was going to turn around and bite him on the @ss...!
Isn't that the definition of a democrat in Funk & Wagnalls?
Colorado Ping ( Let me know if you wish to be added or removed from the list.)
Oh, wait...
Gee, I hope this craftiness is soon reflected in the polls, and that the sheriffs association backs an opponent, if not officially then unofficially.
Best of outcomes for you, Colorado. Prayers up.
Didn't he also refuse to meet with the Sheriffs before passing this?? I seem to recall they wanted to meet with him, but he was too "busy".
Funny how Hick is so sorry now that it's an election year.
That’s what the article said.
Not only that, but some sheriffs are up for election.
Look at the names on yard signs, write them down, and research them.
I found 2 names on signs in yards in my neighborhood for guys running for Adams County Sheriff this year. Medina and Reigenborn.
BOTH have gun grabber piece of crap senator Ulibarri as friends on Facebook.
Research every single name you find, Colorado!
I don't believe the Guv and his staff don't read the papers. It was real clear what was going on as that legislation was being steamrollered through.
