Sports plays a role in perpetuating sexism and misogynyand it can play a role in ending it.
The most moving reading Ive done in the last six months has come from the anguished tweets on #YesAllWomen that followed the Elliot Rodger shootings in Santa Barbara. Even more depressing than his horrific actions is the feeling that the national debates about cultural misogyny, mental health care, and gun control that followed have already lost momentum shoved back into their dusty corner, awaiting the next bloody tragedy. Public outrage has a short half-life. Fist-shaking and finger-pointing quickly degenerates into helpless shrugging.

Whay the hell is misogony?
check out Jabbar’s other articles, especially the one where he can tell if you are a racist if you claim you’re not.
Misogyny is the hatred or dislike of women or girls. Misogyny can be manifested in numerous ways, including sexual discrimination, denigration of women, violence against women, and sexual objectification of women.[1][2] Misogyny has been characterised as a prominent feature of the mythologies of the ancient world as well as of various religions. In addition, many[weasel words] influential Western philosophers have been described as misogynistic.[1] The counterpart of misogyny is misandry, the hatred or dislike of men; the antonym of misogyny is philogyny, the love or fondness of women.
Look it up.

>>Whay the hell is misogony?<<
The agony of watching the movie “les Mis.”

I thought it was because I was better as a cut high school player than chick pros...silly me. Must be my **** thinking for me again.
I love being lectured on misogyny by a Muslim.
lew has probably seen “the vagina monologues” nine times.
What do you mean “WE”? Speak for yourself, jerk.
What’s an airline co-pilot know about misogyny in sports, anyway?
Men bad. Women good.
Joey: Wait a minute. I know you. You're Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. You play basketball for the Los Angeles Lakers. Roger Murdock: I'm sorry, son, but you must have me confused with someone else. My name is Roger Murdock. I'm the co-pilot. Joey: You are Kareem! I've seen you play. My dad's got season tickets. Roger Murdock: I think you should go back to your seat now, Joey. Right, Clarence? Captain Oveur: Nahhhhhh, he's not bothering anyone. Let him stay here. Roger Murdock: But just remember, my name is... [showing his nametag] Roger Murdock: ROGER MURDOCK. I'm an airline pilot. Joey: I think you're the greatest, but my dad says you don't work hard enough on defense. [Kareem gets angry] Joey: And he says that lots of times, you don't even run down court. And that you don't really try... except during the playoffs. Roger Murdock: [breaking character] The hell I don't! LISTEN, KID! I've been hearing that crap ever since I was at UCLA. I'm out there busting my buns every night. Tell your old man to drag Walton and Lanier up and down the court for 48 minutes.
stfu Lew.....
Was he born in Saudi Arabia? If not he must have taken the name because of an idiotic Black Power group who believe simply crazy things.
Of course he must be a Muslim since he took one of their names. Now that I think about it, they make their women wear hijabs, cover their face and not be allowed out in public. Yeah whatever this genius says must be important.
stfu Lew.....
Hey Kareem. How about stopping misogyny in ISLAM?
I guess that makes me a philogynist.
What a bunch of horse manure. How did Jabbar come up with that nonsense?
Thank you for your insights, Kareem.
You may now go back to being a very tall ex-jock.
I love the game of basketball. That’s why I would much rather watch a good boys high school game than watch the WNBA. My son’s HS basketball team a few years ago started 5 athletic guys all of whom could dunk. There are 1 or 2 women in the WNBA who can dunk when the planets align and the winds shift to just the right direction. It’s not misogyny, its a love of the game being played at a high level.
