KY is Yellow Dog Democrat through and through. Registered Democrats outnumber Republicans by a LARGE margin.
The governor is Democrat. Most local offices even in the ‘reddest’ of counties are all DEMOCRAT office holders. Republicans do not even bother to RUN candidates in districts and counties around me - yet every one of them voted for the Republican Prez candidate in the last several election cycles.

This happens so much on Free Republic. You would think that by now everyone would be aware that there are two houses of Congress, and in the instance of high-profile races the FR commenter would know which Congressional seat is at issue, but, no, they're still out there, unaware.
Abortion is an abomination of desolation far greater than any war or financial crisis. Who has had more power to stop it than McConnell has? He should have fought it as the spiritual and existential threat that it is, bearing any burden or paying any price. And yet he has done NOTHING but exploit it for votes. How could he care any less?
Well, he voted against Obamacare that demands infanticide.
His opponent, if allowed to seize power, will use all available means to increase the number of dead babies.
So, look, I know folks will always find an excuse to do what they want to do. The bottom line is a choice between two imperfect people.

McConnell is a Senator, not a member of the House.
What's the difference between McConnell and a Democrat anyway? If it walks like a Democrat, talks like a Democrat and acts like a Democrat --- it's a DEMOCRAT, no matter what party affiliation McConnell claims to be.

I do not argue over conservative write-ins. That is not a vote for Grimes. It’s those who talk of actually voting for her instead of McConnell that are talking crazy.
That said, answer me this:
Why did Harry Reid resort to the nuclear option?
John Cornyn was very upset that he had to personally provide a cloture vote so Harry could get the removal of the debt limit through the Senate.
