Yes, neighbor, but what do YOU think?
Among the many findings of a new Pew Research Center survey is this data about neighborhoods, and how Americans want them to look: more conservatives than liberals want to live in a place where most people share their political views.
The survey found that, among the consistently conservative, 50% believe its important to live in a place where most think the way they do about politics. For consistent liberals, its 35%. Check out the Pew poll.
The divide over neighborhoods doesnt end there. Many more liberals than conservatives want communities where the houses are smaller and closer to each other, and things like schools and stores are in walking distance. Conservatives, not so much. They prefer places where the homes are bigger and farther apart and those stores are several miles away.

This ‘Conserve’-ative I wants a smaller house and lots more tillable land - AWAY from ALL Libtards. And a machine gun turret/watchtower.
Plan the work, then work the Plan. It will be mine. Oh, yes. It WILL be mine...
But, no one ever surveys ME! :)
I work with two liberals who live blocks from work. Both always drive to work. They never walk or bike. Both support the Kansas City light rail scam.
‘I wants’ LOL!
If you own guns & use them for hunting or range shooting, beware of your liberal neighbors. More dangerous than thieves IMO.
In some cities an anonymous snitchline can be used to call a SWAT raid down on your @zz.
“Uh, my neighbor has guns, he speaks out against President Obama, hates government, puts guns in his car & drives off, give me hard looks, I’m terrified for my safety and for my children!”
” the next best thing is to make friends with your neighbors who are ants and shun those which are grasshoppers.”
I agree that it is not only the next best thing but the only other thing you can do if you get stuck in the burbs. We are aligned with our next door neighbor and the neighbor next to him. So it will be the three of us trying to defend three places agains’t God knows what. We finally came to the conclusion that we would be overrun in days. So we are bugging out.
Bottom line if you do not have the resources to move you are just going to be living in misery when the SHTF.
That was after 0bama’s inauguration par-tay on We The People’s Property in D.C.
All the trash left behind was from the Liberal Trash that voted for him!
Could not get past oxymoron.
That's because conservatives just want to be left alone to live their lives. Liberals love dictating how others live their lives and you can do that anywhere.
How dare conservatives try to keep to themselves, raise their families, work hard, and try to live the best they can. Why aren't they out volunteering their weekends in soup kitchens or building houses for the poor in their spare time? In short, why aren't conservatives liberals the libs wail. Tough toenails.
But after ten years of having empty, one acre lots between us and our closest neighbors, somebody bought the property north of us. They appear to have some noisy kids. Our little paradise is now threatened. We will be looking into erecting very high fences.
Liberals want to live where conservatives pay the taxes on their nicer homes and their children can go to decent schools. They certainly don’t want the chaos of a Liberal-run neighborhood or city full of fellow losers.
I believe it to be the 2009 post-inauguration street refuse. I searched for a post-Glenn Beck Rally photo in August 2012 but didn’t have any luck. I recall the differences were stark statements of who cares for their local enviro more.
Liberals are generally comfortable to live around conservatives for two reasons: first, it gives them something nearby to hate and want to undermine and eventually destroy; and second, because they are destructively parasitic.
The latter is harder to explain. It means that what liberals want, they want others to pay for. They also are never contented with what is, and want to tear it down so they can have what they want. But what they want is crap.
A great example of this was found in wealthy California liberals, whose bed had been so befouled by them and other liberals, that they wanted to flee to a more pristine place.
In this case, rural Utah. Indifferent to what the Utahans thought, California liberals had giant McMansions built for themselves. Yet just a few weeks after moving in, they were bored to tears. Utah doesn’t have the pornographic lifestyle, the wretched excess, the drugs and liquor and all the other vices that the Californians craved.
So for once, the Californians appealed to the Utahans to permit the wholesale introduction of such debauchery to their town. And the Utahans spoke with one voice when they told the Californians “Hell, No!”
So today, there are empty McMansions in rural Utah, slowly decaying at the pace of nature, transitory monuments to liberalism, unmourned.

I’ll tell you exactly why I don’t want anything to do with liberals. I’m middle-aged and no longer have the time to deal with stupidity. On the back nine of my life I can’t afford the waste of what time I have left.
Ummm, liberals like being packed in cities close to each other... Detroit and Chicago come to mind...
Conservatives would rather live with each other than with liberals - and have enough space in between than and their neighbors that they’re not on top of each other...
No surprises here.
“consistently conservative, 50% believe its important to live in a place where most think the way they do about politics.”
I say this is true and most conservatives would prefer to live in a conservative area. Liberals will sue when their unpopular ideas are voted down.
“I work with two liberals who live blocks from work. Both always drive to work. They never walk or bike. Both support the Kansas City light rail scam.”
They sound like the left wingers on our cul de sac. One drives her BMer several miles to work out with her liberal friends. We live in an area with great hills for walking, just out of our driveways.
“Liberals want to live where conservatives pay the taxes on their nicer homes and their children can go to decent schools. They certainly dont want the chaos of a Liberal-run neighborhood or city full of fellow losers.”
Damn you nailed our area. The local school had so many parents dropping the kids off at one time there was a traffic jam before and after school. Local kids walked.
One neighbor had enough, and took videos of the mother’s dropping kids off, and turned them in the local superintendent with a copy of the rules re attendance.
Then the school required two pieces of identification that the parents lived in the school district, a property tax receipt and a utility bill in their name and address.
Attendance re the number of kids in that school, the next semester dropped like a rock, and the traffic jams went away.
“I have a medium sized house on a big lot. My community is typically very conservative.”
Consider yourself lucky. We have never lived in a conservative community in 5 homes.
“Ill tell you exactly why I dont want anything to do with liberals. Im middle-aged and no longer have the time to deal with stupidity. On the back nine of my life I cant afford the waste of what time I have left.”
Been there and done that for decades. I developed the no room for idiots, liars, scumbags and liberals or all the above at the age of 50. It drove my wife, kids, priests and a few friends crazy for awhile. Now they agree with me.
At the age of 75, when a liberal starts their bs, I tell them that I’m too old to waste even a second listening to their bs.
