Liberals are generally comfortable to live around conservatives for two reasons: first, it gives them something nearby to hate and want to undermine and eventually destroy; and second, because they are destructively parasitic.
The latter is harder to explain. It means that what liberals want, they want others to pay for. They also are never contented with what is, and want to tear it down so they can have what they want. But what they want is crap.
A great example of this was found in wealthy California liberals, whose bed had been so befouled by them and other liberals, that they wanted to flee to a more pristine place.
In this case, rural Utah. Indifferent to what the Utahans thought, California liberals had giant McMansions built for themselves. Yet just a few weeks after moving in, they were bored to tears. Utah doesn’t have the pornographic lifestyle, the wretched excess, the drugs and liquor and all the other vices that the Californians craved.
So for once, the Californians appealed to the Utahans to permit the wholesale introduction of such debauchery to their town. And the Utahans spoke with one voice when they told the Californians “Hell, No!”
So today, there are empty McMansions in rural Utah, slowly decaying at the pace of nature, transitory monuments to liberalism, unmourned.
My wife and I have toured Utah many times in the last ten or more years. It has to be the all-around most scenic state in the country. A few years ago I asked my wife if she could have a second home anywhere in the country (we live in Wisconsin), where would she have it. She said outside Moab.
