It's interesting that Ted Cruz was born a tri-Citizen. People need to realize that Mr. Cruz obtained his Cuban citizen from his father who had not yet naturalized at the time Ted was born. That is a fact. It is being reported that he officially renounced his Canadian Citizenship today but what about his Cuban Citizenship inherited from his father Rafael? Why is this being ignored by the media as well as his supporters? Don't get me wrong, I like Ted Cruz but this issue needs to be addressed.

My mistake. I meant to say ‘Interesting’ in the thread title.

Cruz would make a great President.
He is 100% eligible under the law.

I love Cruz but why wouldn’t he have the same “problem” that Obama did as far as eligibility goes? Obama at least lied and doctored a fake birth certificate but Cruz wouldn’t do that...he’s not natural born is he?

You might want to check if Castro stripped “dissenters” of their citizenship.
Nice try but no Cuban cigar.

He does not have Cuban citizenship. His father doesn’t either. This was revoked when the father effectively became an ‘exile’ by falling out of favor with the Castro regime. From the point he left Cuba, he was a stateless person.

I think he inherited eligibility for citizenship - but that’s all. So since he never used that eligibility to try to attain Cuban citizenship, he has nothing to renounce.

From everything I’ve seen, Cruz has approached this minefield with openness and honesty. At this point in time, I don’t see much of anyone else I could support.

Yeah, I know, and someone is going to prove that Castro is his real father. It's all there in black and white on his
real birth certificate. - /sarc
Forget it! Cruz is fully qualified and ready to make a great President. You should get on board now.
Ted Cruz 2016!

He hasn’t renounced his Cuban citizen the same way you haven’t renounced your martian citizenship.

This won't end well.
For you, anyway.

Take your nonsense to "The Nation", MSNBC, CNN or some other commie outlet. Free Republic is a site for Conservative Activism not leftist propaganda.
Senator Ted Cruz is 100% American and thoroughly Texan and absolutely eligible for President.
Go Ted go! Take America back!

I did. The Commonwealth of Mars rejected my letter, and everything is sitting in limbo up at State Dept.
