A St. Louis couple is likely thankful to have guns in their home after they were forced to use them to defend their daughter against two men Monday night.
The men, one of whom had an extensive rap sheet, confronted the couples’ 17 year-old daughter after she stepped outside of the house to go to her car, reports the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Cortez McClinton, 33, and Terrell Johnson, 31, held a gun to the girl’s head and used her as a shield as they entered the family home, where a five-year old child was also present.
The girl’s father and mother witnessed the abduction, and both retrieved their guns. When McClinton and Johnson entered, the father fired several shots, hitting both men. The girl’s mother fired one shot but missed.
Johnson died at the scene. McClinton was wounded but was able to scramble off. He had his brother take him to the hospital.
In 2010, McClinton was charged with shooting another man. Charges were eventually dropped due to lack of witness participation. He also had drug possession and distribution charges against him.
McClinton is charged with second-degree murder, kidnapping, burglary, and criminal armed action and is being held on $1 million bond.

There are two things you will not see in the LAMESTREAM MEDIA. 1) There will be no 24/7 nationwide coverage of this and 2) The race of the two criminals. That’s just the way this country is today. Now had it been different, say a “CRAZED” tea party or conservative, that committed this crime, and the victims were “BLACK”, there would be a huge 24/7 coverage of this.

I don’t know the details, geometry, etc so I’m reluctant to judge. But shooting a lowlife holding a friendly as a shield sounds risky indeed. Good outcome though. Congratulations.

There was a recent attempted kidnapping in Seattle of a 6-year old girl by some perv (with an ankle monitor!). I was explaining to my girls, depending on the range, I would shoot. A 17-year old (if tall) would be tough. Although if the girl has the presence of mind to duck, hit, etc.
The father of the 6-year old chased after them and out of the park where the girl was playing. (I’m guessing dad was watching her from a bench or something.)
When the cops got there the perv was on the ground being beaten by four men. The cop said: “The subject attacked the father first as he tried to escape. No charges will be filed against the four men as they subdued the subject.”

I’m wondering if the family, given that both parents had guns and willing to use them, also trained the daughter on how to slump when being held by a captor. Done properly, it exposes the perp quite nicely.
