These people live off the government teat. So they want men like Cochran that will "bring home the bacon" i.e. graft payoffs.

Has anybody else notced that Haley acts like he is running?
There are always coming out on behalf of Cochran, but where is
Cochran?
Why isn’t Cochran campaigning instead of Haley Barbour?

Haley should know that one senator does not change law! But then again maybe he doesn’t. He has nursed for so long at the public teat that he has lost sight of reality!

Barbour is trying to appeal to cross-over Dems.

‘Haley the Doosh’.
I used to think quite highly of him but I’ve ‘grown’.

I have NO idea why education is a federal matter? Taxing people in California to give to North Dakota makes no sense. Taxing ND to give to Florida is goofy. Taxing Florida to give to Oregon is insane.
Education is a local matter.

So McDaniels needs to come back and say he'd only eliminate federal funds which are used to impose the federal curriculum on Mississippi and local communities. Tell the people it's about regaining control of the schools, and money will be redirected to programs that will help children prepare for jobs and being excellent community members.
(That's what 'pubs used to argue until George 1 came along and expanded the Department of Education)

Good. There’s a problem with that? Guy just went up in my book.

“Education” is a money pit that can never be filled. The ROI is poor and funding has little to effect on the generational ignorant.
Smart kids are going to do well no matter what, so funding is just another government handout to raise another generation of dependency class, non thinking, state supporting, robot voters.

So two years ago when Haley Barbour was saying that the Republican platform should include elimination of the Department of Education then he was just kidding?

So, why hasn’t all of the money Cochran sent to Mississippi changed Mississippi’s education status within the US from bottom of the 50 states to bottom of the 50 states? Its been 40+ years so why hasn’t there been a change?
To: cotton1706
Haley, or one of his sons, must be getting the Senate appointment when Cochran retires next year.
