A California pastor is being extradited to Nevada on a murder charge in the death of a man outside a Las Vegas sports bar -- despite claims by witnesses that the father of two was acting in self-defense.
Robert Cox, of Manteca, Calif., claims he did not throw a punch at Link Ellingson, knocking him to the ground and causing a mortal head injury. But prosecutors claim Cox changed his story, first telling officers he punched Ellingson after the man threatened him outside Four Kegs bar, and then later claiming in a written statement that he grabbed Ellingson by the waist and the two fell to the ground, according to the criminal complaint charging Cox with felony murder.

Tell your story TO YOUR ATTORNEY. DO NOT SPEAK TO COPS.
Amen to that.
Never talk to the cops, but know this:
If they get you to tell your story, and then later they ask you to re-tell it DO NOT COMPLY.
If your first and second story differ by so little as one scintilla they will claim you CHANGED YOUR STORY and that’s that.
Just don’t talk to them in the first place.
Vegas cops have earned their reputation.

Multiple witnesses to the event say the pastor was defending his flock of students.
Why would he take his wife and small kids to a sports bar?
I have seen law enforcement say they knew a person was guilty, because their story didn’t change at all, and in innocent people it will a always change a little. I have seen law enforcement say they knew a person was guilty because their story changed. So, you are guilty either way.
Because many sports bars are like Applebees etc. They serve dinners and have TV's showing sports. Most of the people at lunch or dinner are there for just that. Lunch and dinner. And like most restaurants they have a bar.
What does that mean? No sarcasm, just elaborate. Thank you.
Vegas cops are nothing more than company enforcers for the casinos, much like the security services one found in the company towns of the 19th century.
They tend to leave dead bodies in their wake. Remember the guy they gunned down at the big box store, and then it turned out there was no video from any of the security cameras that were within range? That wasn’t the only notch they’ve put on their guns. LV cops are aggressive and mean.
I take it you’ve never seen the inside or outside of Four Kegs. Not exactly family friendly. And no way to mistake it for a fern bar.
You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law.” Sound advise.
No just a few in the suburbs around Overland Park, Ks. Wouldn't have any problem taking my family for lunch or dinner. Probably wouldn't take them late at night.
A lot of sports bars these days are nothing much more than a restaurant with a place on the side where you can order drinks.
Does make you wonder why he used poor judgement then.
“Why would he take his wife and small kids to a sports bar?”

If you read the story you’ll see that they (the 22 member Church service group including Pastor Cox and his family) ENTERED the restaurant side, had dinner and afterwards EXITED through the bar side.
My prediction is that this will likely turn out to be yet another corrupt/dirty/incompetent cop story.
Does make you wonder why he used poor judgement then.

Maybe it wasn’t such poor judgement. Looking at the restaurant’s website/menu they do advertise a “Family Dining Room”.
Drunks and folks with anger issues and other problems appear in all sorts of places.

Yes, I remember. His name was Erik Scott. He was drugged out of his mind, shouldn't have been out in public, and definitely shouldn't have been carrying a firearm in that condition. The officers were cleared and Scott's parents eventually dropped their lawsuit.
