A couple of days after Election Day in 1994, the only U.S. House race whose results still were unknown was the CT-02 race between incumbent RAT Sam Gehdenson (sp?) and Republican Edward Munster (no, not Herman and Lilly’s boy). It had a couple of recounts, and Gehdenson ended up being declared the winner by like 8 votes.
Gejdenson, according to Our Campaigns, prevailed by a beefy margin of 21 votes.
The GOP-Controlled House should have emulated the rats treatment of the Frank McCloskey (ironically a ‘94 loser) race in 1984 and refused to seat Gejdenson.
1984 was the last time that power was used, wasn’t it? Such a shame. The ‘96 Dornan race was the only one I know of that they investigated, and even then, they sat Sanchez in the meantime.
Allen West and Martha McSally should be in Congress right now.
