This morning on WMALs “Morning on the Mall” radio show with hosts Brian and Larry I was asked a simple question relating to the Taliban prisoner release and impeachment of the president. I responded yes that in this current case, the U.S. House of Representatives should file articles of impeachment against Barack Hussein Obama.
Now before all the detractors go apoplectic here, let me tell you about Article 2 signing statements, their intent, purpose, history, and usage, and the implications for the president’s impeachment.
President Obama used an Article 2 signing statement to deem unconstitutional a measure HE had signed into law contained in the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). The law stated that he must advise Congress within 30 days about any plans to transfer detainees from GITMO. Obama basically stated that this was “unconstitutional” and that his unilateral action fell within his purview.
Once again Obama used selective discretion as to what law he feels he must adhere to — in this case it has severe ramifications for our national security.

I’ll be very surprised if anything comes of this. It never does and there have been many opportunities to do it.
The republicans just don’t have the leadership to pull it off.
They make a lot of noise, rile up the base and then they move on.

There’s a case against impeachment?
Anyway, the only way forward is to change the administration in 2016 because by the time impeachment worked its way through, the election would be fully activated and the main priority then (as now really) would be to remove the Dumbocrats from office. A different face at the podium would probably make only slight differences if it were Biden, Clinton or (God forbid) Reid or Pelosi.
Various GOP options represent different degrees of change but any change would be a move in the right direction. I hope it’s a person of the calibre of Cruz or Palin.
Now I don’t mean to imply that impeachment is pointless because it would set the right precedent so that something this blatant won’t happen as easily in the future. But in terms of saving America from the abyss, it’s 90% about the next election and 10% about impeachment, unless you can twin that impeachment with strong restraints on further misadventure by (presumably) the Biden administration of 2015-16. And the 2014 midterm election addresses that question. So it’s mainly about the votes however you slice the onion.
Treason being defined as "a violation of allegiance to one's sovereign or to one's state".
The release of the enemy's high command in a sham exchange for an enemy sympathizer and collaborator over the objections the security apparatus of the USA displays a basic lack of allegiance by the POTUS to the United States of America.

Fact: Obama armed al Qaeda in Libya to overthrow Gadaffi and in Benghazi Libya transfering arms through Turkey to Syria.
al Qaeda made an act of War against the US on 9-11-01 and killed 2,000 of our citizens. Is there any question about al Qaeda still being “at war” with US?
We did not declare War on al Qaeda, but we did defeat them in Afghanistan.
Now Obama releases the top Taliban (al Qaeda affiliates) in GTMO under a very questionable prisoner exchange.
Is this not enough? How many others should also be charged. This is the real issue here. The Treason against the US was not done solely by the POTUS.

Indeed. Think of all the individuals involved in the exchange who kept their mouths shut when they could’ve alerted Congress or Media and blew the lid off the whole thing. Too many on the inside complicit in the coup on America now.
Impeachment is NEVER going to happen.
There is NO WAY the Senate will vote to impeach.
I know l. Can’t they think of more than one thing or combine a few .
