THE CASE FOR OBAMA’S IMPEACHMENT
American Spectator ^ | June 2, 2014 | By Jed Babbin

Posted on 06/02/2014 4:19:31 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

On December 20, 1998 the House of Representatives approved a two-article bill of impeachment against President William Jefferson Clinton. In it, Clinton was accused of lying to a grand jury, suborning witnesses’ perjury in a civil case, and other such criminal conduct. What was missing from the Senate trial on that indictment — and from the nation at that time — was the political momentum to remove Clinton from office. So, like the only other president so far to be impeached, Clinton was not convicted in the Senate trial that followed.

Andy McCarthy, a former senior federal prosecutor, has written the new book Faithless Execution, which is both a powerful case for the impeachment of Barack Obama and also a politically savvy explanation of why it will never happen. It’s brilliant and frustrating. Brilliant because of the constitutional analysis of the impeachment mechanism and frustrating because it recognizes that no matter how deserving of it he may be, Barack Obama will never be impeached.

Article II Section 4 of the Constitution says that the President, Vice President, and all civil officers of the United States “…shall be removed from office on impeachment for, and conviction of, treason, bribery or other high crimes and misdemeanors.” Treason and bribery are, of course, crimes prosecutable in federal court. When impeachment is discussed — and it’s not in polite company these days because timorous Republicans are frightened by mere mention of the “i-word” — it’s largely understood to encompass only criminal conduct.

But that’s not what the Framers understood it to mean...

I have said it before. Obama could roast and eat a baby on live television and the Senate would not convict him. That is, if the House would actually bring charges against this “historic”(first black) president. Speculate all you want, Obama isn’t going anywhere.

G-d forbid the neo communist press call us waycists.

That is the ticket. Throw enough against the wall and see what sticks and who finally got forced to do their damn jobs in lieu of losing it. Make them feral and when the media shills, call them out as communists and, “Oh, they are life long democrats”. Alinsky their asses.

Impeachment is probably the wrong approach. The 2008 and 2012 elections need to be declared null and void due to fraud.

Exactly right! Then fit ‘em with striped suits.

His teflon is, lets just say is getting a lot of scratches, thus less and less protective.

"The 2008 and 2012 elections need to be declared null and void due to fraud."

And when that happens scores of officials (including several judges) from all 50 states will need to be indicted, tried and convicted along with Traitorobama.

May these low-lifes sweat every night over the possibility that will happen in their lifetime with the 3AM pounding at the door with an arrest warrant.

I have said it before. Obama could roast and eat a baby on live television and the Senate would not convict him.

I used to say about Bill Clinton, and have said often about Barack 0bama, either of them could shotgun murder a dozen praying nuns on the White House lawn at high Noon in front of every TV camera in North America, high on tequila and cocaine, and you'd never hear a word of it.

At this point, I hope Sheriff Joe and Mike Zullo have the goods, and it is enough to turn the tide.

We are in a very dangerous place right now in our history as a nation.

Hard choices are coming.

I can see the dilemma. Obama and the dems could use impeachment to accuse conservatives of being racists and get his supporters back in line. I’d much rather they wait until after the November election and at this time benefit from Obama’s missteps.

I understand your logic. However at this point I am in favor of any morsel of justice we can get and politics be damned. At this point I would even welcome impeachment hearings. I am interested in more than an outcome (is he impeached or not) but in the process. Is anyone even looking at this?

Add this to the growing list of “Why should I vote Republican in November?”

” - - - The House — especially the Boehner-led House — dares not approve or even bring to a vote any impeachment of a popularly elected president unless the majority of Americans are resolved to removing him. - - - “

IOW, Boehner refuses to do his duty as Speaker of the House.

Why then don’t the Members of the House remove Boehner as Speaker?

Obama is not going to change, Boehner is not going to change, and so it is up to the Members of the House to change their Speaker to someone who will hold Obama accountable for his Multiple Derelictions of Duty for the past 5 + years.

BTW, House Members, early voting starts right after Labor Day,- - - - Tick, Tock.

The idea of impeachment basically died in 1999 with SlicKKK and Trent Lott, who simply refused to hand the country over to Algor with a year left on SlicKKK’s second term. We’d need a constitutional change to insure that when a president was removed, his ****ing VP went out the door with him.
