A former U.S. officer who served in Afghanistan with Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl claims that soldiers were threatened by U.S. authorities if they questioned his story. After he was captured, Bergdahl said on a video from his captors that he lagged behind on patrol, although other sources in the military suggested anonymously that he walked away from his post. “Not only has this nebulous non-story been put out for years but you know these soldiers of 4th Brigade 25th Infantry Division were threatened with legal repercussions if they spoke about Bergdahl. Everybody officially mandated silencing of what we saw has been so frustrating,”

From what I’ve read, Bergdahl was a muzzie `hiwi’, short for Hilfswilligen, lit. “those willing to help.”
The Germans used a number of them—captured Russians—at Stalingrad to do their scut work.
They were anxious to please, hard working and loyal.
As you can imagine, when the Soviets re-took Stalingrad, the hiwis found themselves in a world of hurt.
But our hiwi was `rescued’ by surrendering-over a terrorist starting lineup.
He should face a military court of inquiry, but he’s being feted and celebrated by the left, and it looks like he’ll be promoted.
Whether it’s illegals demanding citizenship with all its rights, venal politicians or treacherous soldiers ... what do you get when you reward/fail to punish bad behavior?

Of course they wanted to bring him home. They needed to tidy up loose ends before the full Afghan surrender. It wouldn’t look good if we still had an American soldier on the books as a POW after we left. Obama didn’t want to look bad.
Now that the truth is emerging, they may wish that they had left things alone. The story about the Non disclosure agreement has been out there for some time in military circles, but it’s not worth much now, the cat’s out of the bag.
What elected office will Bergdahl run for?
Both situations involved everyone in signing non-disclosure papers. Hopefully someone might break out with more Benghazi info because of the bravery of the men that are now speaking out about Bergdahl..
and all people coming within 100ms of Bergdahl will be sworn to secrecy ,until they find or create a medical problem
So basically from the gitgo the military knew Bergdahl had deserted. Otherwise why try to keep people from talking about it? There is no other reason.
A forced signature on an agreement is “signing under duress”, hence not enforceable as to the provisions of such an agreement. On the other hand, if they still have you by the short hairs, such as the military would have to make your life miserable, that legal escape clause might be of little consolation.
