CAWW, I’m am nowhere near convinced that there are so many Russians in the East that want to leave the Ukraine.

Where has all the uproar by these people been over the last 20 years? I’m just not buying it. I speak with people in that region and haven’t found one yet that wants to break away and join Russia. Granted it’s only about ten people, but they do refer to Putin as Putler or reference his actions as Hitler-like.

Perhaps I’m just running into the wrong people, but so far I’m not able to agree significant portions of these people want to leave. Some may. I don’t doubt that. In any population there will be differing opinions.

Didn't mean it If i mislead you to thinking I believe the Eastern Russians want to go with Russia...I do not believe that. I do think they want a republic within Ukraine where they have self determination...much like our states here where Washington is our capital but states determine much of their business.

I think they are genuinely afraid of the Questionable intentions of the Rada...it's now being represented by much of the Solvada/PrivateSector and I can understand their concerns...just look at the bombing and the oppresion now, not to mention the Elections....all which support their concerns and fears.

I do believe, however, that after Kiev began bombing the area many of the people were thrown into thinking there was no hope of Kiev ever taking the Eastern Russians concerns into consideration...Heck they saw their Pres. candidate beaten and such til he had to withdraw) (just how is one to think clearly when being bombed and there's a war zone daily)...I think people are looking for an escape from the fighting and deaths...and watching their communities being destroyed.
