There is nothing more awesome than knowing that Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl has been released by the Taliban after serving in captivity for five years.
Bergdahl represents the American fighting spirit. Has survived his ordeal. And he will return home to Idaho with honor.
Having received training on how to survive captivity several times, I remember that we were always taught to maintain hope that no matter what our government would come get us. That we would never be forgotten. That, at some point, we would regain our freedom.
That has happened today.
However, has there been a cost with the actions taken to secure Bergdahls release?
The cost of Bergdahls release is five senior Taliban commanders who were held at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and Rep. Buck McKeon, chairman, and Sen. James Inhofe, ranking member, of their respective Armed Service Committees issued a fairly reasoned note of caution:

This part of the article is standing out to me, "While we celebrate Bergdahl coming home, has the administration suddenly emboldened the Taliban? And, why, again, has the president chosen to ignore Congress and circumvent the law!"
"circumvent the law"
WOW

Prisoner transfers a have been going on as long as warfare itself.
There is no shame in them. This is especially true if we are getting ready to pull out.
I am sure this young man will have some ‘splainin’ to do.

It may be that the current Clown Prince nobama clown-car administration doesn't consider the ta-lee-bahn to be terrorists. Therefore, they aren't negotiating with terrorists. Also, aren't their partners-in-crime in syria the ta-lee-bahn? Isn't the Benghazi mess revolving around Clown Prince nobama supplying the terrorists with sophisticated weaponry? By his actions in Libya, didn't Clown Prince nobama allow the terrorists to seize 15,000-20,000 shoulder launched missiles? Where is a responsible Congress in these matters? Do they all hate America or what?

If Bergdahl was black they would’ve gotten ten for him.

In executing this transfer,
the President also clearly violated laws which require him to notify Congress thirty days before any transfer of terrorists from Guantanamo Bay and to explain how the threat posed by such terrorists has been substantially mitigated. Our joy at Sergeant Berghdals release is tempered by the fact that President Obama chose to ignore the law, not to mention sound policy, to achieve it.
This exchange was motivated by Obama's domestic political concerns. If the charges made by McKeon and Imofe are valid, then there are some very serious issues at stake here.

I assume nobody else knew of his capture? Can you imagine, if under Bush, the Taliban had captured one of our soldiers? It would have been in the headlines every night.

Netanyahu released 1,000 terrorists for Gilad Shalit. I’m still not sure what to think of it.

And the release of five Gitmo terrorists will equate into the deaths of how many Americans within a short period of time??

Rolling Stone magazine quoted emails Bergdahl is said to have sent to his parents that suggest he was disillusioned with Americas mission in Afghanistan, had lost faith in the U.S. Armys mission there and was considering desertion.
Bergdahl told his parents he was ashamed to even be American. Bergdahl, who mailed home boxes containing his uniform and books, also wrote: The future is too good to waste on lies. And life is way too short to care for the damnation of others, as well as to spend it helping fools with their ideas that are wrong.
Bergdahls family has not commented on the allegations of desertion, according to Col. Tim Marsano, a spokesman for the Idaho National Guard.
