Las Vegas, NV – Nevada Senator Harry Reid released the following statement today after President Obama announced the resignation of Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki:
“Eric Shinseki has served our country for decades, on the battlefield, as Chief of Staff for the United States Army and as Secretary of Veterans Affairs. He is a good man and should be commended for his admirable service. The VA has fired senior officials at the Phoenix facility and has pledged to personally contact every veteran in Phoenix waiting for appointments. This is a good first step. It is now time to restore veterans’ trust in the reliability of the care they are receiving from the VA. I will do everything I can to ensure that Congress works to address the root causes of these systemic problems so that the men and women returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan, and those veterans already in the VA system, receive the care they deserve.”
The scandal is over. Move along.

Probably found a Desert Tortoise up there along with Al Capone’s money (Remember, Reid was Nevada’s Gambling Commissioner while the Mafia was still strong in the casinos in Vegas. Calling two-to-the-head Alan Dorfman - skimming from the Chicago/NY MOB is no way to go through life, which is why they ended it.
64% of locations falsify records. Looks coordinated to me. Obie tried to blame it on an old computer system. Bet the dog ate his homework a lot too.
And there's the rub - he doesn't think they deserve "care". Or - he thinks they are already getting the care they deserve and not anything more. After all - these VA types are gubmint employees who need new and better furniture.
There are probably five or six members of Congress who care about veterans. But, probably not more than that.
Don’t know if Shinsecki’s leaving will change much or not;can’t comment as to his guilt or innocence in the matter. However,even if he is guilty of anything,I doubt that it begins & ends at his level. Suspect that his leaving is maybe being done just to turn down the heat in other areas. Anyway,I’ll bet his resignation leaves him walking away with more money than any 3 of us normal citizens could make honestly.

What about counting Veterans’ and Soldiers’ votes during elections? Would you be willing to do something like that??
