Is Trent Lott the best Cochran can do?
That will backfire, big time. Most Mississippians hate Lott
and are glad he is no longer a Senator.

“SANTORUM: zzzzz”
Santorum has cred with pro-life voters. Good addition to the team.

Chester would have been voted out had he not retired.
He has not lived in MS for years.
Lott’s calls on behalf of Cochran will only remind Mississippians
how glad Lott is no longer their senator.
It will not help Cochran.
Palin vs Lott?
Not even a fair fight.

I wish voters had listened to him in 2012 when he warned on Obamacare, “We can’t afford to give away this issue away.”

I was born, raised and lived in MS until I was 23.
Eventually moved to East TN.
Trent Lott is despised.

Love your response!
I know. As in, what conservative *wouldn’t* support McDaniel?
Rocket science for these professional endorsers? I don’t think so.
Big risk for these endorsers? Never.
BTW, do you know if they are paid to endorse, beyond expenses if they come in from outside? Just wondering.

Trent Lott? Isn’t he the Senator that let Bill Clinton off the hook?
To: vetvetdoug
Yep. That “Don’t dump that trash over here” Lott, responding
to the House impeachment vote.
He also power shared in the Senate with Tiny Tom Daschle,
among hundreds of other ant-conservative policies.
To: Dr. Sivana
He also has cred as a front man for the Establishment.
Rand Paul’s endorsement of McConnell reminded me of Santorum’s endorsement of Specter in 2004.
Ted Cruz stayed netural on Cornyn earlier this year.
He has helped to make sure the we got Mitt Romney as the GOP nominee by splitting conservative votes...

Sometimes there are pay offs or some sort of quid pro quo for endorsements
.but not all the time. Kind of a tacky practice, but it happens.

In case you havent heard the latest, Trent Lott, a bloomin Rino, stated that all the calls jamming his office phone lines are a complete waste of our time. He is not going to listen to what we have to say about the immigration/amnesty bill. He will do as he damn well pleases. Me thinks, Mr. Lott has forgotten that he works for us and we can fire his big lord ass in the next election. He happens to be the Minority Whip, a position that is for the betterment of all America, not just Mississippi.

You are right, but he still has cred with pro-lifers despite that, just as Brownback has the same cred despite supporting Sebelius for HHS, which in a number of ways was even worse.
Some time ago I decided not to make endorsements a litmus test for candidates being acceptable. There are too many circumstances where otherwise good people endorse bad candidates. Besides Brownback/Sebelius, Santorum/Specter, there is Palin/McCain (2010 race, of course), and Gingrisch/Scozzofava. Very few, and almost none with any staying power, fail to make one of those once in a while.
No one is going to confuse Santorum with Cruz on style points, but he has stuck with some important principles despite the GOP establishment.
