I don’t know the current status, but there used to be a law conferring citizenship on children born to officers serving abroad.

McCain wasn't born in a military hospital. He was born in the Republic of Panama - a foreign country. Have you ever heard of foreign-born military brats being told they were ineligible for the presidency? I have, and so have most of my family and extended family.
Congress made McCain 'eligible' by passing a motion. They conspicuously avoided considering zer0's eligibility, though.

I believe the 'rats used the power of the press and the magic of open primaries to select McCain, the weakest available candidate, for that exact reason; it prevented the 'pubs from challenging obama's bona fides...
