WOLFEBORO, N.H. A New Hampshire police commissioner who used a racial slur in describing President Barack Obama has verbally resigned to the chairman of the Wolfeboro Police Commission.
Robert Copeland, 82, had been facing intense pressure to resign after a resident complained about overhearing him use the N-word in a restaurant.
Copeland acknowledged that he used the slur but refused to apologize or step down.
Town and state officials -- along with some national figures, such as Mitt Romney, who has a home in Wolfeboro -- had condemned the remark, and more than 100 residents packed a Police Commission meeting last week to demand Copeland's resignation.
Copeland had been re-elected to a three-year term in March. Officials said resignation was the only way to get him out of office before the end of his term because the state has no recall provision for elected officials.
After stories about the slur spread nationwide, town officials and the police department were flooded with phone calls from people saying they would boycott the town, a popular summer destination, until Copeland resigned.
Six letter word beginning with NI-, describing Obama: NITWIT
Soon to be banned:
“Nigger of Narcissus” by Joseph Conrad
“Woman is the Nigger of the World” by John Lennon
Mr Conrad and Mr Lennon cannot be reached for comment.
Well, now all he had to do was rap it, and he’d have won and award!!!
Wiki: “In the United States, the novel was first published with the title The Children of the Sea: A Tale of the Forecastle, at the insistence by the publisher, Dodd, Mead and Company, that no one would buy or read a book with the word nigger in its title, not because the word was deemed offensive but that a book about a black man would not sell. In 2009, WordBridge Publishing published a new edition titled The N-Word of the Narcissus, which also excised the word nigger from the text. According to the publisher, the point was to get rid of the offensive word, which may have led readers to avoid the book, and make it more accessible. Though praised in some quarters, many others denounced the change as censorship.”
82? Dude, go enjoy your grandkids. The game has passed you by.
Near the start of “Mugged” by Ann Coulter (I have it as an Audible audiobook) she mentions that the N-word is taboo, except when used by a black rapper or actor, “in which case the non-stop use of this epithet may earn you an Oscar,
a Grammy, an Emmy or an NAACP Image Award.” She goes on to mention Pulp Fiction, a movie in which the N- word is used
“approximately 5 billion times”.
I still say he should have rapped it.
Then it’s “art”... or something, I suppose...
The “N” word?
Not a racial slur. A description of an attitude of being a useless person who is a parasite upon society. Lots of white “n” words out there.
Have a few black friends. None of them are “n” words. (Oh and if you are black and don’t live your life as a useless parasite you are called an Uncle Tom by the “n “ words.
When I work in “da hood” I hear the little kids calling each other that all the time.
I don’t get it, why would he call a white guy a neegar?
The right of citizens of the United States to never having their feelings hurt shall not be denied

That usually gets pulled.
No politician Democrat or Republican was willing to stand up for the First Amendment.
and with a repeated consonant.
Too bad. Evil is in control in today’s America. America, at one time, was a decent nation. Right is wrong and wrong is right. Mr. Copeland, enjoy the years you have left. Many will not be able to that in future America.
They should get awards too...
Everybody should get an award ... just for showing up.
Learning how to write their name... get an award.
Learning how to cuss and swear ... well, THAT, my friend, deserves a Trophy...
And beating a conservative to the ground, within an inch of death, lifetime street creds+ respek!
