Its the kind of conservative media story only conservatives understand.
The latest numbers are out for Michael Savages radio show. Recall that Savage was a key player in the battle between Sean Hannity and Cumulus radio. A battle that had an exasperated Hannity finally firing Cumulus, as reported here in NewsBusters at the time. But not before Savage, whom Cumulus had in the wings to replace Hannity in the latters Cumulus slots, took shots at Hannity, gloating at taking Hannitys slot.
The Savage numbers tell a revealing tale of conservatism in the media. So lets start with the brand new numbers themselves, numbers supplied by Nielsen Audio. They are the numbers for April last month -, and cover 52 of Americas major radio markets. We will directly compare them here with Sean Hannitys last numbers before being replaced on Cumulus stations - which is to say Hannitys numbers for December, 2013. The percentages cited again, these are from Nielsen Audio (formerly known as Arbitron) are nothing if not startling.

Speaking of his crew, does anyone remember that girl's name who released her gift lobster from Sean into the lake and without taking the rubber bands off its claws?? For the life of me, I can't remember her name - I thought that incident was hilarious.
I know what you’re saying. On Fri. he was confessing why he never really liked tea party rallies. It’s because ( in part) people wore costumes. I don’t think many of them did, actually. The ones I saw at the two events I was at mostly were in regular street clothes. But he really obsesses over it.
He also had some very unpleasant words for Matt Bevin, be ause of his association with the constitution party, evidently.Third parties are among the things he most despises(Some of the others are tattoos, the school lunch program, light rail and soccer.)He likes Mitch McConnell, I guess, even after a caller confronted him about the “crush” comment.
Savage is brilliant, entertaining, and shares anecdotes about history culture food etc. Also arrogant and unpredictable. I enjoy his show at times to get the gears turning. Would not expect the same listeners to tune in- hes not for everyone.
I actually listen to Npr in small doses as well...especially when I want to hear lib's practice their lip smacking and 'professional' radio voices.
Sometimes Michael Savage is very enlightening, especially about certain political issues. Lately, I am tired of his constant put-downs of other talk show hosts, bragging about his market share and rudeness to telephone callers. I am always horrified when he brags about his near super-human powers of (fill in the blank). He seems to be a very insecure individual to have to give himself kudos like that. That said, I think it would be very interesting to meet him and have a walk on the beach to chat. I either would be charmed or never listen to his show again.
I agree. Who is that guy and why does Hannity give a "big lib" so much time on his show? He's always on when I'm on my way back to work from lunch. When I get to work, I just listen to music. Hannity gives the "big libs" too much credibility.
From the host's point of view, it is a lot harder to fill up three hours than two. That's where a host can use "back office" help in preparing the show, and that's what Rush does, and that's what Hannity should do.
When it comes to TV, I always thought the half-hour show was much tighter and better than the hour show. Sitcoms have usually been half hour right from the beginning of TV, but dramas generally expanded to an hour in the early 60s, and the results weren't always good. What a difference between a tight half hour "Peter Gunn," versus a padded hour long "Bourbon Street Beat"!
In particular, the original "Twilight Zone" worked much better in the half hour format. The network forced them one season to go to an hour, and the writers were much against it. And you can see why -- the "Twilight Zone" usually depended on a twist ending, and you can't really build up for an hour to a twist ending. But a half hour? Perfect!
He’s selling books or whatever comes along.
Just review how many times he has switched endorsements for similar product lines.
I hear you. Man-said-God-Said is one of the worst.
Or Andy Willoughby. “How in the world are you anyway?”
Or the Biblical money code.
Go here next is Herbalife, I think.
Good ole Carnivora.
Get that stinky dog away from me!
Kars 4 Kids
And last but not least, the baldness and male enhancement. As one Bellgab poster rhetorically questioned, “are there really that many limp d***s out there?”
You really hear the venom dripping when Medved speaks about Palin, or Cruz, or the tea party, or actual conservatives, (a word that he makes sure he uses when describing the worst of the rinos).
Medved is one of those, “I like and admire Governor Palin”, but........ and then spend the next 10 minutes destroying whatever is to the right of McConnell or Romney.
Medved wets his pants over those words too. But now Seattle has the real deal in Ksharma Sawant, so he has to say the “s” word.
I know, Ive noticed that.
I saw Boortz at an Arizona spa...mentioned to him in the hallway that I liked his show(which I did at one time).
He ignored me...and then later at dinner, turned away again from another guest who just wanted to shake his hand.
I found him to be an arrogant and unlikable person.
Just when you’re about to give up on him, he hits it out of the park with one of his monologues, though.
About 8 years ago he did one about deep people who take life seriously. It really resonated with me. I wish I had a transcript.
Can’t stand either of them. I get all of the news and insight I need from Levin and Alex Jones.
Now just a bleepin' second!
What bloomin idiot wrote that headline?
It should read: Hannity Hemorrhages Audience...to Savage.
Savage isn't hemorrhaging anything....Hannity is.
The Kars 4 Kids guy sounds like a Chicago hood. And Man-said-God-said sounds like he should have a revival tent.
Hannity is a fraud just like the rest. He was dead set against the GM bailout. But he was happy to sell GM ads on his show and to drive an Escalade for a year...all paid for with bail out money.
