Its the kind of conservative media story only conservatives understand.
The latest numbers are out for Michael Savages radio show. Recall that Savage was a key player in the battle between Sean Hannity and Cumulus radio. A battle that had an exasperated Hannity finally firing Cumulus, as reported here in NewsBusters at the time. But not before Savage, whom Cumulus had in the wings to replace Hannity in the latters Cumulus slots, took shots at Hannity, gloating at taking Hannitys slot.
The Savage numbers tell a revealing tale of conservatism in the media. So lets start with the brand new numbers themselves, numbers supplied by Nielsen Audio. They are the numbers for April last month -, and cover 52 of Americas major radio markets. We will directly compare them here with Sean Hannitys last numbers before being replaced on Cumulus stations - which is to say Hannitys numbers for December, 2013. The percentages cited again, these are from Nielsen Audio (formerly known as Arbitron) are nothing if not startling.

When Al Gore’s tv channel was on, I think called the “Current”, Stephanie Miller’s show was on live in the morning, she is in the same vein as Schultz, Tom Hartmann, the Leftists or iow, Democrat lapdogs. I think Stephanie Miller also is a “Lesbian”, I don’t know her show well, I don’t think she’s bad looking at that. Still, in general, I can’t take 30 seconds of those kind of Democrat Leftist shows. Still, maybe all they are is the opposite side of the spectrum.
Thank you for taking the time to post that. As I said he doesn’t necessarily reflect what I think. Even the New American thought to address him on amnesty: http://www.thenewamerican.com/reviews/opinion/item/15493-amnesty-debunked-a-response-to-michael-medved
Still, doesn’t mean with Hannity on and when Sean is redundant or talking mainly to his crew, some political talk can still be found on Medved and he certainly isn’t Ed Schultz.
Ed Schultz is so abusive that nobody, especially conservatives, should go on his show. But I think Medved does.
I was surprised that Dr. Laura Schlessinger isn’t on the list.
Does Jerry Doyle still do radio?
I don’t know who he is, I don’t keep up with them much.
While Hannity can be repetitive and sometimes lightweight, people still can handle listening to him on the radio. Savage can at times be the best radio personality on the air, however, his constant attacks on Sean and Rush are completely uncalled for. When he insults them, he insults their listeners, who now are turning him off.
He doesn’t limit it to them. He ridicules Megyn Kelly by calling her show “the Nail File.” He used to like her.
Dr. Dean Edell—there’s somebody I don’t miss.
Well Luke, I’m glad that you hear that you like living in Arizona so much.
I will be there for seven months a year..Otherwise, I’m a Cheesehead and love Northern WI..
I’ve chosen country type living, halfway between Tucson and Phoenix at an “active adult” retirement(?)ranch with many amenities.
I vowed to never spend another winter in Wisconsin and meant it.
No, not looking forward to Johnny McShame...but aren’t some areas of Arizona otherwise kinda Conservative?
North Tucson can’t be any worse than Boulder, Denver, and other lib infested towns in beautiful Colorado.
Or the People’s Republic of Madistan, WI!! Geez...
I agree with your every word, chris. But I am not going to give up on Levin. He is the only voice of reason and he is fearless.
“AMEN!” to your comment regarding Michael Savage’s radio talk show, “freebilly.” In my upper-mid-western mid-sized city, he initially aired from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. then, a-couple-of-years later, from 9 p.m.-Midnight (with the first hour repeated during the third) then, finally, during these past several months, from 3 p.m.-6 p.m. daily. His abusive, habitually contradictory statements and outrageous, unwarranted braggadocio reach epic proportions routinely. While I rarely listen to Sean Hannity’s programs because I’d judged him a boring, mediocre broadcaster, at least he’s sane. I was utterly astonished that Cumulus Broadcasting could have been so imbecilic as to use a verbal “loose cannon” like Savage as “leverage” in a contract dispute with the lacking but delightfully personable Hannity. I believe that both Cumulus and Savage “lose big” on this moronic gamble—and deservedly so.
Me too krunkygirl...I’d much rather listen to Savage for the same reason you mentioned....but for real content, I listen to Mark Levin.
